The people are great. The scenery is what you make of it. The no package alcohol sales within the city limits is annoying. The weather is wonderful 90% of the time. It's sunny. It's not humid. The summer and fall are especially nice. The summer has cool nights and the fall has beautiful days. The cold wind in the winter and the dusty wind in the spring aren't so nice.

Really, the only issues I ever had with the city were the sense of isolation and the lack of seafood.

I'm sorry-the people aren't any better or nicer here than most of the rest of Texas, and the weather is nice far less than 90% of the time, unless wind doesn't bother you. Bottom line-Lubbock is in the middle of a dry, windy, dusty desert.

Ok aggieblitz, I think we know where you stand on this. Can you stop arguing with everyone who has good things to say about Lubbock? Geez. Bottom line on the weather in my opinion:

January-June - Give me Central Texas weather

July-October - Give me West Texas weather

November-December - Toss up

WTA-I've been very respectful in my posts, and you can go back and see I have no problem with people liking Lubbock and even understand why some people want to live there. I won't ever concede that the weather is great, or the people are any better in West Texas, Lubbock in particular, than other places in Texas. That is something so many people say in arrogance and its just not true. The thread started with someone asking about living up here and I gave my response from a position of being someone that lives here with no previous ties or family relationships. I don't think many people in that set of circumstances like living here or stay here when they don't have too, especially Aggies. That's the point. It seems like you post something positive for evey negative. I read a lot of your posts on M&W and actually like most of what you say, so I'll leave it at that. By the way-I was at Hillcrest yesterday and it was outstanding and I'm in College Station now and its not hot, or humid. In fact the humidity this afternoon was less than Lubbock yesterday. By Lubbock standards, that means its not humid here and evey place else stinks in comparison.

Fair enough. I don't disagree with you in that the weather is not "great" here. I think it is damn good from about mid June through November. The rest of the year is hit or miss.
