I am considering bringing my wife to Corpus this weekend to see Alan Jackson. Couple of questions:

1. Any general thoughts on the arena? Is the sound quality ok? Where is the best place to sit? Any place you wouldn't sit?

2. We'll have to stay overnight. Any good restaurant (dinner/breakfast) or hotel recommendations?

Hotel: Omni
Places to eat downtown - Vietnam for asian food, Bleu Bistro or Republic of Texas for semi-formal dining or Sushi bar for sushi (great food sometimes bad service esp when busy due to it being a small restaurant)

Sorry cant help you w/ American Bank Center as I've never been to a concert there.

I would agree with Omni. Harrison's Landing is a nice place with a different atmosphere (on the water off the T heads)and walking distance from the Omni

OP: it is a small arena, so there really are no "terrible" seats. However, it is a U shaped arena, kind of like the old G Rollie White. But it is modern and a nice arena for the area.

Sound is ok. Not as good as the Summit in Houston used to be, but probably on par with Reed. I haven't been to a concert on the Toyota Center, ATT, or AA Arena.

Stay at the Omni. Or the Radisson on North Beach is very good alternative. The restaurants mentioned are all good choices. If you want to park and walk, Brewster Street Icehouse has good bar food for pre-concert fare.
