I'll echo North Park Lincoln. Easy and straight forward process.

Mercedes of Boerne is also great. Never did ADM during COVID and don't add on anything. The other two SA area Mercedes dealers were ADM and not easy to work with.

Porsche North Houston is one of the few non ADM dealers - but you have to wait and play the game a little bit.

Bluebonnet Ford in NB was decent for me.

I've had good experience with Classic in Galveston.

Also buying a Subaru a few years ago was really easy - got the car we wanted; was in and out in about an hour.

I'll second Holiday Ford in Whitesboro. 2018 F150 XLT loaded with all possible options - they posted their best price on their website. I tried to beat it locally in Fort Worth area - couldn't do it. Called the salesperson and said I wanted the truck - drove up there from Flower Mound with wife and we followed each other home 60-90 minutes later.

Autonation Ford in Burleson. Bought the wife a Bronco Sport during 2021 nonsense - the deal was easily made and done quickly, but I'm not sure that really counts when you're paying sticker price. They did match the lowest price I could buy an extended warranty for online, so that made it easy. I would try them again if I was buying another new Ford.

I've ordered 3 Ford f150s from 3 different dealers. All with great experiences. And each one seemed to get a little better
2002 with Leif Johnson in Austin
2012 with planet Ford in spring
2022 with TV in Houston (Had same pricing as planet Ford despite shopping exact same vehicle with Ford dealers all over the Houston and BCS areas and getting different prices for an order...plus some said they couldn't take away the ads ons like vin etching, etc)

Had my financing lined up with credit unions when going to pick up on delivery but still financed with Ford each time as they gave better deal and with each finance person told them I don't want to hear about add on. Just showing up, reviewing figures, signing and walking out. All of them treated as such.

TV with 1ags hookup has been great.

December of 2022 had a great experience with Lambert GMC outside of Cleveland, OH. I was looking for a 2023 Yukon Denali with the duramax and super cruise. Every dealer in Texas that had one was doing stupid markup. I'd search the gmc site a couple of times a day to look for new ones, then call the dealership and see if it was spoken for and if not, how bad they were going to attempt to rape me. I heard some crazy asks e.g. $30k over msrp, $10k over msrp + had to finance through them + had to trade in, etc. The cheapest I found was $5k over msrp. Saw one heading to Lambert, sales guy said I'm sure someone ordered it, let me check… a few min later said actually that one is available, do you want it we only are charging msrp? I asked about addons. No addons. Msrp was out the door pricing since it was out of state. I gave him a $1k deposit on my credit card, said they'd hold it as long as it took me to get up there. Went up after a ski trip on 12/30, spent 30 min at the dealership, mostly setting up onstar, and hit the road. After everything was done, asked why they weren't gouging people like everyone else… he said eventually this will end and people will remember who treated them fairly during these times.

Douglas Nissan in College Station. I was shopping every dealership in the area and was picky about time I spent in one area. I told the salesman ( Darain I think) that I was looking ad had 15 minutes. I looked and didn't see what I wanted and was ready to leave. He said I know you said 15 minutes but I want to show you one that just came in. I loved the truck immediately and went to the credit union to get pre approval. He respected me and my time and got the truck I wanted. Idk if was tuned or something else but the SOB was quick.

My best two have been my last two, mainly because I simply won't tolerate any BS. I probably communicated with 5-10 dealerships for each of these deals through email and nixed any that gave me any runaround.

2022 - F250 from Leif Johnson Ford. No add ons, everything as advertised, delivered to my driveway in CS and signed paperwork there. Great experience.

2023 - used F150 from Lonestar Chevy in Houston. Significantly higher trade in on the F250 mentioned above, everything as advertised, they had everything ready for me when I drove in from CS one evening. They did miss a signature somewhere, but drove to my office in CS to have me sign.

Sewell is my #1. Huffines 2nd. CarMax 3rd. Have had great experiences with all 3 but I always look to Sewell first. My Dad is in his mid 80's and hard core customer service. He'll only buy from Sewell or Huffines.

Another edit. Sewell hires a TON of Ags.

Bill Fick has been most pleasant for me. In/Out no BS pricing. Might be $1000 higher but its all handled and trade in was higher as well.

Red McCombs we use for our company trucks. Vernon has been great for us, even in the 21 and 22 truck shortages finding something for our fleet to keep going.

I won't go near a Keating or Beck & Masten ever again

My best experience was buying my wife's current car in August 2014.

We were eating lunch at Jason's Deli in Arlington and she asked what all the big balloons were for across the highway, I told her that was what the car dealerships do to draw attention (apparently it worked). We finished up what we were doing and as we were leaving the area she asked if we could go look at the Prius (she had been wanting a new car and said she wanted a "cheap car that got good mileage"

We went over to the Toyota place that I wasn't very fond of from a prior experience, but what the hell we are just looking right? We look at the different models/trim levels and picked one out to drive, she liked it, I didn't mind it and then we go back inside to talk $$. The salesman was surprisingly chill, he usually just did appointment/service scheduling and was just covering the floor so to speak and we were taking away from his time on the phone I think.

Since we didn't "need" to buy a car that day I was more inclined to haggle, I ignored the whole 4 box thing they like to do with trade-in/payment/etc. and just settled on negotiating on a sale price. It took a while but we ended up getting the price I wanted, 0% interest and I sold our potential trade-in a few days later for $3,000 more than what they were offering to a private party.

We still have that 2014 Prius, it fits right in since we moved to Oregon, but it will probably be going away soon. The wife would actually like to sit a little higher and have a more comfortable seat since the Prius seats are awful. So if anyone wants a 2014 Prius with ~120k on the clock I can make you a deal.

After dealing with North Park Lincoln I will have a hard time shopping anywhere else. Straight deal, everything done by text message. Delivered to South Texas and completed paperwork at my kitchen table -they drove back in my trade in.

Service has been excellent after the sale. I will not take it to anywhere in Corpus again.

Had transmission trouble in Colorado (under warranty). Dealerships there were also terrible. I paid to have it shipped to North Park. Best decision ever.

Tesla and it's not close.

Price is advertised. I configured it how I wanted. Paid the price with my phone via the Tesla app. Car is built. App tells me it's ready. I show up. My car is there. Looked it over and found no issues. I sign "paperwork" digitally on my phone. Phone app turns into the "key" after signing. I get in car and drive off. Didn't have to talk to a single person.

Took all of 5 minutes. It was surreal and how it should be for every vehicle purchase.

You don't need lowlife human garbage like Ben Keating. They are dinosaurs and provide zero value to the purchaser.

So much this. Easiest car buying experience you can get. Apply for loan in app. Pay down payment in app with Plaid so you aren't giving your banking info to Tesla directly but rather to Plaid who we all already use. Submit insurance cards in app. Schedule pick up. This was our first Tesla so we spent about 30 minutes asking questions from the various attendants that were there and when we were done they printed the paper tag, we signed something on the app and we were on our way. Guy picking up next to me was done in less than 5 minutes.

Test drives are available just to walk into a store and ask for one. 30 minutes, no employee with you and no pressure when it's done. I wasn't even put on an email blast to unsubscribe from.

It doesn't get any easier.

We bought a Hyundai Santa Cruz truck at College Station Hyundai and did not have any problems. We asked for them to take off APEX charge and they did. Interest rates were very high, but I'll blame Biden and not Keating for that.

Also purchased a Hyundai Palisade in May at Steel South Loop Hyundai in Houston. We had agreed on a price via email and I just had to to pick a color; many had black leather seats which I hate so that was my limiting factor. They had a huge inventory to choose from. We ended up there because my son was on the title for my trade and he lives in Houston so that just made it easier for him to sign.

Land Rover Glenwood Springs

Bought a Discovery in 2019. Called a few months back as the windshield had a chip in it and I had the windshield replacement thing. GM was who answered the phone and she remembered me. She looked up the windshield policy which had unfortunately expired, talked for a bit I might have her look for a Defender V8 for me.

I passed a lot of Land Rover dealerships to get to that one, and would happily make the drive out again.

My wife handled the Defender 90 purchase from LR Denver. She said they were also fantastic.

LR Colorado Springs is terrible. We literally drive all the way to Denver if we need dealership service or warranty work and we use a private shop for simple things

2019 - bought my wife a jeep grand Cherokee from some dealership that does leases on new cars, and then sells them after the lease is up. Got there late in the day, met the rep and did a test drive. We put money down, but we're still going to finance. We used a third party finance company. Since it was after hours while we were still there, obviously our rep couldn't get ahold of the finance company to confirm financing.

He still let us take the car home that night. Just said he would call us the next day once he was able to confirm our financing.

Not pushy. No hidden fees. No extended warranty pitches. I asked him why he was so laid back. He said he was straight salary, and didn't have to worry about padding a commission check every month

Not relevant to 99.8% of this board but I just had a great experience this week. 21 year old son needed a new vehicle pretty soon so I started looking because I have a lot of free time. Went to Earhardt Dodge here in Gilbert, Arizona. I told him to look in San Antonio where he lives. Prices on Ram 1500 were $6-10K less here so he bought a plane ticket and flew here new years day. I told the sales manager I was going to pay cash but I couldn't transfer the money to my checking until the next day so it might not be available until Friday/yesterday. They got the vehicle ready and let me swipe a card for $5K. He needed to be back in San Antonio by Friday for a golf tournament. They let him drive it back home and I paid for it Friday morning when I got the money. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have done that if I was the dealer. Ended up saving about $8K on a 2025 Ram 1500 over what they wanted in San Antonio.

1ags contact at Tommie Vaughan. The first couple of vehicles I bought from her, I flew in and she picked me up from the airport and drove me to the dealership. I was out of the dealership in 15 minutes or less both times. After that, I would just email her what I wanted, she would order, I would send a wire when it arrived and she would ship it to my office across the state. Less than 5 minutes of paperwork with the delivery driver each time.

Mr Dubi bought a Mazda Speed 3 at Jeff Haas Mazda in Katy on a Saturday. We planned to finance with Aggieland Credit Union, but they were closed. They let us take the car home and figure out the CU loan paperwork on Monday. We were very surprised.

Last two experiences have been very good, both in San Antonio.

Vara Chevrolet - 2019 Silverado bought in Sep 2019. "Texas Edition" advertised at $30k in the paper. All the options I really wanted, and some I didn't know I needed (heated steering wheel?! woo hoo!) Other dealers (on phone) wouldn't touch that price. No funny business and they gave me a good value on my trade. Super glad I bought when I did, 'cause a year later, prices were thru the roof.

North Park Lexus - 2023 ES350 (CPO) with 10-15k miles, purchased in summer 2024. Looked like brand new. Super easy, price as advertised (no haggle) and they beat Carvana/Car Max on our (17 year old ES350) trade-in. I actually bought the extended maintenance plan (surprising myself) because the cost was less than the included routine maintenance services. For my scheduled routine maintenance, they provide a loaner, OR they'll drive out to our house and pick it up! We used the heck out of their loaners on the old vehicle, so we know that program is legit. Very happy with them, and not surprised their name is repeatedly mentioned here.

I'll also say Mr. Kalig is a genuinely nice man. I don't roll in those circles, but got a chance to attend a party/charity function at his house via a friend of a friend.

I think a lot of it has to do with the individual you are dealing with vs. the dealership itself. I've had great experiences at a almost every dealership I've bought from, but if I get even slightly annoyed, I move on to another dealership so that's probably why.

Best experience I've had was Cooper GMC in Stillwater, Ok. A couple of Christmases ago, our F-150 was having problems. We took it to the Ford dealer, who called us back saying it was the intake manifold, which was under an "intergalactic backorder". This is after we'd had it in 4 times in 3 years, for over $5k worth of work. I'd been on the fence about trading it in before the latest malfunction, and this pushed me over the edge. I'd even gone to Carmax a few weeks prior just to see what they'd quote on a trade in.

So now, we're out of town, and HAVE to get a new vehicle. I looked at a few dealers, in the Stillwater/OKC areas and wasn't happy with the prices for the quality, and decided to up my price range about $10k. I went to Cooper, and explained what I was looking for, and the price range. They brought out a few trucks for me, 3 of which I liked (Dodge Power Wagon, and 2 GMC AT4s).

I went and got the wife, as this was to be her vehicle, which would also be used for towing our camper, and brought her back. She fell in love with an AT4, which was a bit above what I had told the dealer our range was. I explained this to the dealer, who went to the back, before coming back with a better offer. He offered to take our trade in for the Carmax quoted price (which was before the latest issue), and took the price of the AT4 down to our price range if we were to finance through them. Yes, it was a higher APR than I could get on my own, but there was no penalty for paying it off early, and the difference in prices was worth it.

He then goes to the back again, to finalize the deal before we go back to sign the paperwork. While he's back there, my wife and I are tossing around ideas, and decide that paying another $10k down on top of the trade would make more sense, and a much easier monthly payment. I kind of felt dirty asking the sales person about taking the extra down payment when he came back, as it changed all kinds of numbers we'd already agreed to, but he took the offer back without complaining, and the dealer accepted the offer. We signed the paperwork that day.

All in all, it was a very easy process. They didn't have any addon fees or anything, and even though we changed the deal which gave them a worse deal, they accepted it without any counters or grumbling. I walked away pleasantly surprised that there was a dealer that worked like that.
