The one on 18th is the pushiest I've ever been to, and myself and others have had them do the hard-sell we can't repair/rotate those. Not sure if it's related, but the manager has some sweet classics including a 71ish El Camino and a boxy Chevy stepside, maybe double cab.
This is the one I use as well and they will probably successfully upsell anyone who is not knowledgeable in basic car things. Doom and gloom sales tactics.
Yep, I actually bought a cheap tire depth gauge and take it with me waiting for them to swipe the device over it and tell me what my tires w/ 50% of tread left are 'close to 4/32 so they need to be replaced'.
LX570's TPMS 'check system' message is showing, which in the past meant one of the sensors was out, and I've taken it to the 18th St Discount Tire 3 times but it's still on.
1st Trip: Dropped it off and walked to Reel for some happy hour bites and a refreshment. After close to 2 hours I look out and see it parked outside so I think it's done. Walk back over to be told that they tried to call me to confirm the $65 charge for a new sensor, but I confirmed that there was no missed call (checked for block spam call) and just left as it was well after 5 on a Friday and we had shlt to do.
2nd Trip: Dropped it off, went to Reel, called after an hour and they said it was done. Walked over and they said they changed all 4, wanted $260, but I told them that they replaced 2 in the past year or so they charged me $130. Light still on as I left but google told me that sometimes you have to drive a bit for it to reset.
3rd Trip: 2 weeks after the last visit, the light is still on so I take it back in this past Friday to be told they they had to order the correct sensor and they'd call me around 10 on Saturday. They did not call me on Saturday.
Every visit there makes me feel like I'm being punked.
