We could all be driving rolls around if we got to keep all our income too.

Probably wouldn't hurt to win the genetic lotto and some inheritance though.

But then you'd have to live in the Middle East. Not sure there is a dollar figure worth that for me. But I can do half and stay here if that works.

Abu Dhabi is the nicest place with the highest standard of living I've ever lived.

Super clean, super safe, tons of fun stuff for the family, it's amazing

I'm sorry but that is more than $2mm. That isn't just a RR Cullinan, but a one of one Mansory Cullinan Linea D'oro. The trim and wheels are 24-carat Gold. I think I read somewhere this fetched more than $1.6mm so tack on the plate... You do the math

When I was in Dubai in May, heading onto the Palm Jumeirah, I saw what looked like a Lamborghini Urus which I used to see frequently in Los Angeles in the $200k-$300k range.

This one looked a little different and said - Mansory. I had no idea what that was.

So... yeah - the Mansory version is like $900k. Crazy.

Check this out....

I went to a local car meet with my son this past year. Some kid rolls up in a Lambo Urus, and I said, 'he must have a cool dad' (meaning...cool, for allowing his son to take the car to the meet).

The kid next to us goes, 'no, that's his. He's in my English class'. The driver was a Junior at Lake Travis High School. I didnt believe it until I saw "Lake Travis Student Parking" sticker on the windshield.

There is no part of me that understands that. Even if I had a cool billion, I couldnt bring myself to buy that for a 16 year old. I know some very wealthy people, and not one of them would do that either.

I thought you were going to tell me the HS kid was a streamer and bought it himself.

Not sure what "Mansory" is, but my wife's Telluride looks better than that abortion.

A lot of them are hideous.

How do you make a Cybertruck even uglier?

So, it's an after market custom car company that destroys high end vehicles. Noted.

Do all wealthy people in the middle east have garish tastes?

Apparently. Probably stems from walking around in a plain white bathrobe all day.

Back in the 1970s when SNL still made fun of certain stereotypes they did a spoof of Beverly Hillbillies called Bel Airabs. It was a skit like Hillbillies, but instead they were nouveau riche arabs. It was exactly what you described. The Arabic version of Jethro was particularly tacky. Very, very, funny. It used to be available online, but I can't find it now.

Well said.

Or sometimes they put a 900 hp engine in a Lamborghini that only had 650 hp to start with for some rich guy to drive around at 40 miles an hour on an artificial island in The Arabian Gulf.

In the late 2010s there was an Australian TV show called "Here come the Habibs" about some cashed up Lebs (Aussie slang for Lebanese) who played into all the stereotypes. The show was pretty hilarious.

No joke, this is why they all drive crazy cars and wear insane watches, there are only a few outlets to visually differentiate the social levels.
