Going to Colorado Springs for a wedding this weekend and will have some time on Saturday for a run. Any trail recommendations not too far away? Hoping for about 10 miles.

If you aren't going to do the Manitou incline, hit palmer park right in town.

The Manutou Incline was sold out for tickets but someone told me they don't check tickets anymore. It's also going to be hbc's first trail run, so the incline might be too crowded.

You should be able to run around Garden of the Gods as well. Depends on what side of town your are staying. Odly enough I will be in the Springs for a wedding as well. I will be staying on the north side

We are staying near the Airforce Academy, but Palmer Park and Garden of The Gods are only about 20ish minutes away.

Don't know if you still can, but there used to be some trails that you could run onto the Air Force Academy. You can also look at alltrails.com for some other popular trails

tossing this one out here, especially since its not a boring vlog type video.. back in july, we decided to do a beer mile, but with a bit of a spin. Obviously not any sort of real world record.

They don't check for tickets but doing the incline as part of a 10-mile trail run is ambitious as it's mostly a ~1 mi stairmaster. I'd do Barr Trail instead but that's no walk in the park either. Garden of the Gods has more manageable trails.

The last several times I've been to the incline they did not check reservations. We're always starting at or before sunrise so maybe they only check later when it gets busy.

Section 16 is a cool trail too at the top of red rock canyon open space. You can easily hit 10 going further north down into RR canyon open space or going up Bear creek/captain jacks. Pretty solid vert so may or may not be a good intro to trail, but less that incline/barr.

BFC is next weekend. Here's a quick video on how the DNF at AC100 affected me and how I'm preparing for BFC.

Going to Vegas this week for husband's work conference. Are there any trails that I can reliably and safely get to and from from the strip via rideshare? We won't have a car

Entered the lottery for ac100 to get redemption, but didn't get in. #49 on the waitlist. Not sure if I'll get in, so going to look at other races. Will likely go out there and pace. Brother in law is 22 on the waitlist so he will get in.

well, nevermind. the re-ordered the waitlist. i'm now so far down, there's likely not chance i'm getting in, and guessing my brother-in-law isn't either, though he might get in last-minute being local.

Is that race first come first serve or some other type of entry?

Got talked into filling a last minute opening on some friends' Ragnar team for the Oct event at Flat Rock Ranch.
Maybe I'm underestimating the mileage, but it seems the hardest part is going to be not drinking too much between loops while waiting on the rest of the team to run their loops.

And yes, that is the difficulty. Also, the packing stuff in and out. That sucks. Especially the out.

I have read that she always tried to discount other runners when they beat her records and always challenged them. This is just petty. Seems kind of embarrassing now that people look at her as an ambassador for women's ultrarunning.

Seems like everything has blown up and Camille has deleted all her socials. I'm sure that's not going to go over well with her sponsors.

On a better note, I think I'm finally on the right side of having the flu. We traveled to a wedding and I was feeling a little off. Thought maybe it was just being tired and the elevation, but was sick a couple days after we got back. Had the flu for about a week then it took a a little bit more time to feel right. Heart rate is still a little on the high side but nothing extreme. Good news for the runner I'm pacing at Arkansas Traveler and for Javelina in 5 weeks. I feel ok even though I lost about 2 weeks of training.

I've been on a bit of a low since getting back from Badger but I'm think I'm getting back on track.

i read that Camille added "autistic and ADHD" to her social media before she deleted everything. Don't think anyone believed that. She's definitely got some issues, and I'll be surprised if sponsors don't start dumping her.
