I actually did some work for Graham Weston (Rack Space) a few years back. Had no idea who he was. Lived in a small home on the Guadalupe river near the IH 35 bridge that if I remember correctly was mobile.
Nice guy and family. You never know.....

The father of Hydraulic Fracturing and Founder of Mitchell Energy... that George Mitchell.

Also had something to do with developing The Woodlands before it was sold to the Howard Hughes Corp.

Anthony Wood, founder of Roku. According to quick Google search, he is worth 2.6 billion. Likely fluctuates with Roku stock price.

I don't believe A&M has any living billionaires. Darren Woods makes over $30M per year as CEO of Exxon. Greg Garland makes over $20M per year as CEO of Phillips 66. David Cordani makes over $20M per year as CEO for Cigna.

George Michell had a net worth of $2 billion when he died in 2013.

Beaver Aplin (Buc-ee's) has a net worth all over the place according to the internet, but the one that seems to put the most effort in has him at $2.3 billion.

There are plenty, they're just not on the lists.

Keep in mind those Forbes lists and others rely on public assets. CEO's and owners of public companies where their stock holdings are reported to the SEC. If the firm, practice, or company is privately held unless there was reason for significant information to become public then there is simply no way of knowing.

For some you could probably look up land holdings and then make an estimate based on land values/comps. Even those however will be incomplete as ranches will be held in LLCs and shell companies.

Edit...
There's at least 3 Ags on this list... I don't think the full ranking's are correct and it's leaving some big properties out... But the sizes of the holdings listed are probably correct or pretty darn close.

Yup. Plenty of very wealthy people not on the lists. My good buddies family popped on the Forbes list back in the 80s for 2 years after the probate case was settled when Grandpa passed. Haven't been on it since.

Beaver himself isn't worth anywhere close to $2.3B. The entire Bucees franchise is likely in that ballpark, but there are at least 3 owners. I'd guess Beaver is in the $500MM range, give or take a hundred mil.

The article I saw claimed he was a 68% equity owner. So it wasn't a 1/3 split amongst the owners.

Don Adam - billionaire banker

built Miramont after A&M tabbed Traditions instead of Miramont as their golf course... I'm sure there is more to it than that, but he was pissed to say the least

Nope, he wanted a golf course, so he bought the land and built one.

Put a fund out there that pays for payroll and maintenance forever...

Membership is capped at some stupid number... I think he runs the thing as a not for profit.

My uncle lives next to the clubhouse... Played May or June, 8:30 tee time, saw 1 person on the range, never say another person on the course on a Saturday!!!!

The Sunday brunch buffett, is stupid good!!!

He also wanted an office to work out of, so he built an 8 story office building close to the course.

Dude has some coin...
