Gator Bowl's Overnight Sensation: Leon O'Neal, Safety

Texas A&M dominated North Carolina State 52-13 on New Year's Eve in the Gator Bowl. With veteran safety Donovan Wilson out, freshman Leon O'Neal stepped up and produced an electric performance, earning him this week's Overnight Sensation.

Olin’s Thoughts on Leon O’Neal:

Without a doubt, Leon O'Neal. This was a pass defense that had been having issues, against a good passing offense. Leon came in and had an interception as well as another pass breakup. Just a very strong game from him in the secondary and we haven't seen a lot of those lately. Very impressive. I think he really set the tone for those guys in the back end of the A&M defense.

O’Neal’s stats against NC State:
Tackles: 6
Tackles for loss: 1
Interceptions: 1

2018 Season Statistics:
Tackles: 14
Tackles for loss: 2
Interceptions: 1
