If last seaon taught us anything, it does matter. Every single vote matters. It may be the difference between playoffs or finishing at #5.

How high we climb before Bama will affect how far we drop if we lose that game.

TU looked "good". I think ULL was overrated and TU was slightly underrated. We'll see what happens, but based off play and beating a top 25 team ranking between 15 - 20 is par for the course.

Big 12 looked like garbage this weekend...... Texas Tech looks like it might be the TU 3rd hardest conference game.

Very interesting game in Fayetteville this weekend... will be the only game used to compare Ags and TU. Hopefully the Pigs play them as hard as they've played us in years past.

Not AP but we were #4 in the first CFP poll one Sumlin year, maybe 2014 or 2015 and then proceeded to no-show against Miss State and the rest of the season.

Yes. That was one of the worst losses in Aggie history. It was a disaster. We were in the Committee top 4 and we're big favorites. That game killed us. I was throwing bricks at the TV.....

Take it in stride my friend, it was Kent St. I can understand your enthusiasm but I remember when my neighbor, he and his brother both played at A&M under Slocum, got all crazy and laid a sizable bet on the Ags winning it all after Kenny Thrill Hill beat S.Car. Several years back. I remember thinking "why not wait until the end of the year to laid down a sizable bet"? Put it in perspective and enjoy the wins.

Texas just moved in front of the teams that lost ahead of them sans Clemson (No. 10 North Carolina, No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 14 Miami, No. 16 LSU, No. 17 Indiana, and No. 20 Washington).

The Horns didn't jump anyone in the Top 25 who also won. Six losses from teams in the No. 10-20 range, and the Horns move up from 21 to 15. It was not only believable, but easily calculated. The only question was whether a team behind the Horns would jump them following the win over Louisiana.

It is great to be ranked No. 5 and ahead of Clemson in Week 2. If we win our next four games, especially by 10+ points in each game, we should be ranked No. 5 or higher on the week leading up to the Alabama game. I hope we can split our road games at Ole Miss and LSU to finish 10-2 and 2nd in the SEC West. Ole Miss and LSU will challenge us for 2nd in the SEC West and a potential NY6 bowl.

I too think the polls can be skewed. As an OU fan I'll admit I was pretty disappointed with the showing against Tulane. I think we'll get on track but Riley needs to pull his head out and get his teams where they can play to win not just get a lead and then hope to survive.

sadly i do not think that a&m will spend any meaningful time in the top 4 unless we beat bama. sucks that this is one of the few times we're in top 5 but it doesn't really matter.

When your QB throws 3 interceptions it's kind of tough to say he is "aces". I think he will improve as the season goes on, but slow down until he has a game where he throws more touchdowns than interceptions.
