As I said before, this thread is proof that Old Army is dead and gone forever. Some of the posts on this thread are hilarious.

You dont have to squeeze to feel the pain. Our play for the last few years has been like a kick to the balls.

Funny story about this was when my wife's grandfather '38 walked us out to the car on our way to a game bent over and said squeeze the left one for me. I had to explain to my wife '91 what that meant - she was shocked at her grandpa to say the least.

To be honest, I had never heard of it until this post either. I wasn't a CT, but I'm a die hard Ag, class of 2000, lived on campus for two years, built bonfire, etc. They never mentioned it at my fish camp.

is there like an official aggie traditions book we can quote from to verify this?

I never read it in my campo. Maybe it was a "tradition" for a while that just faded away. Much like I hope the "tradition" of holding out the S in our yells. Man that was annoying.

Does "Squeeze Ags" apply to crutial basketball plays as well? For example, if a game goes down to the wire, do you squeeze you nut for the entire last few minutes?

When it was 3rd or 4th down and 2-3 yards, you squeeze your left testicle. I guess you don't have to wait for an intense moment, and can squeeze all game but that would hurt some. We had TOOMBS when I was in school so making 3rd or 4th and short was easy.

dear god, this is why people make fun of us.

im not sure what is sadder that we are supposed to squeeze our nuts to feel the teams pain, or that their is a specific nut that we squeeze.

also, incredibly gay. i never thought anything would top horse-laugh-gay but this did it.

You'll notice I've been saying the right one rather than the left - that's the way I remember it but then again I'm left-handed...

This must be one of those things that went away for awhile that is now being brought back like the Rocket yell. Nobody said, "Squeeze, Ags" when I was in school from '89 - '93.

Yes they did. Yell leaders did at every field goal attempt. Pass back is one hand grabbing the other wrist while putting your hands above your head..

"Grab your left one , boys" is an old, old expression to bring good luck. It was used when drawing a card in poker, or your horse is running 1st in a close race etc., etc. The Aggies picked it up before my time (the 50's)and called it "squeeze" the left one for luck. In fact, there used to be a yell leader hand signal for the corps to squeeze, like when luck was needed for a measurement for 1st down for the Ags or the measurement to be short for the opponents. I don't know but assume it started it's demise when co-eds came. I only see YL's use it for PAT'S & FG'S now.

So Ags , grab your left one, Technicals are coming to Reed!! You don't actually have to squeeze it Ags, it is symbolic. Just act like you are. Who knows? I would squeeze until I'm blue if it would help beat Knight. WEll, maybe not till I'm blue.
