Headlines

Crazy Fast – Humble Atascocita and Duncanville both broke the 26-year-old national 4x100m record set by Fort Worth OD Wyatt, and top football prospects played a big role in the feat. In 1998, Wyatt clocked a 39.76, and the record stood tall until last weekend. Atascocita, with standout 2025 RB Tory Blaylock‍ and 2024 LSU signee Jelani Watkins‍ as part of the four-man team, clocked the record-setting 38.92. Duncanville was not far behind with a 39.66. The Panther squad includes LSU 2025 WR commit Dakorien Moore‍, 2024 LSU RB signee Caden Durham‍ and 2026 WR prospect Ayson Theus‍.

RB Tory Blaylock‍ has announcement plans Humble Atascocita RB Tory Blaylock announced a top six of Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas in early March, but now he has a commitment date. His top six will all be represented when he announces his college choice on Friday, March 29.

Back on the Market – Pflugerville Weiss standout wide receiver Adrian Wilson‍ announced his decommitment from Oregon. As one of the top wide receivers in the state, he holds offers from across the country. He originally committed to Oregon in July, flipping from TCU. He first committed to TCU on June 25.

Welcome back – Oklahoma commit and standout QB Kevin Sperry‍ is headed back to Texas. He began his high school career at Prosper (TX) Rock Hill, and last year, he played and won a state championship at Oklahoma City (OK) Carl Albert. Now he returns to Texas to be a part of an always strong Denton Guyer program.

East Texas moving – Another 2025 QB is on the move. Brady McCown‍ is transferring from Jacksonville to Gilmer. Brady was the Fightin’ Indians starter in 2023, following in the footsteps of his cousin Ryan McCown as Jacksonville’s starting QB. The McCown legacy is well-known throughout Texas. Brady’s uncle, Randy, played his college ball at Texas A&M, and his father, Ryan, and uncle, Josh, both spent years in the NFL. Brady’s brother Owen was a standout at Rusk before moving on to Colorado and UTSA.

Headed to North Shore – Wide receiver Quanell X Farrakhan Jr‍ announced he is making the move from The Woodlands to Galena Park North Shore. Farrakhan has been a standout in the Highlander program over the last few years, but he will spend his senior season making plays for the Mustangs.

New name to know

DL Kordae Houston‍, Dallas (TX) South Oak Cliff – 2026

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive lineman quickly turned heads last spring after moving in from Plano, and it was immediately evident to coaches he would make an impact. He was relegated to JV action for the 2023 season due to transfer rules, but SOC coaches believe he would have been a starter if he were eligible last fall.

Regardless of the competition, Houston’s tools were easy to spot. He describes his style as quick and physical, and the tape verifies just that. He is quick to put his opponent on skates. He studies the likes of Justin Madubuike and Maxx Crosby, and it shows as he comes off the ball low with an explosive burst and brings quick and powerful hands.

The recruiting process is in the early stages, but Houston is on college radars. He has yet to take any visits, but Nevada offered in late January, and UNT offered in early February. He is also receiving interest from TCU, Texas A&M, SMU, Missouri, Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Oregon and UNLV.
