I've been a big CW fan, but my eyes don't lie. Marcel has IT, is a better fit for Klein's system, and seems to be a better leader. And to cap it all off, just listen to Marcel's TA interview vs any CW interview…I'll just leave that there.

100% agree with it all. Their interviews are night and day different. You also see the players gravitating to him. Major props for a redshirt Freshman to have the confidence of his teammates such as that one. I'm not anti Weigman. I just really like what I see with Reed in all facets.
Finally you said something I can agree with.

You're so worked up you can't even read correctly. I'm predicting what Elko will do. Just wait and see, you don't have to be mad at me about it.

But again, I think you roll with Reed until CW is 100% healthy. If Reed absolutely lights it up then he gets the nod. Otherwise give CW the start again once healthy, but on a short leash.

I'm hoping Reed can get a few more starts and make the decision easy.

Got it

You are the only smart one on this thread. Take no ownership. It's everyone else's fault. And now talking circles bc you are being called out on it.

Not bipolar. Narcism at its finest. No worries bud. I think I have seen this quality on most the threads you control and typically avoid them.

But engaged this time bc as the other poster noted, you are so miserable you are finding failure in our success.

FYI you can't state for 90% of thread one thing and then state something different for 10% and then state we have reading comprehension issues. We see clearly what you are stating.

The funniest part. NOW you are stating what I have been stating since the game was over on Saturday. You are welcome. Looking forward to your future insult or deflection.

Look I know everybody in the lynch mob/peanut gallery is ready to run him out of town on a rail after one horrible start, but how about let's give the kid another shot. And don't get me wrong, I think Marcel has what it takes to lead this team but he doesn't have the arm Conner does. He just doesn't. If Marcel is CLEARLY the answer then let's go with him by all means. But put away the tar and feathers for right now

I agree sort of but please share what Connor's best game was where you discovered his superior arm. I would like to know. I'm pretty sure his best game against a SEC team statistically was not much better than what we just saw from Reed and his threat to run is dramatically worse.
This very game he went for 338 and 4 TD. The throws were sharp and solid. Now maybe his confidence is shot after the injury, and definitely after the ND debacle, and if that's the case and he's that mentally fragile then he has no business in the lineup. But let's at least see. Get the shoulder back to 100%, don't throw him back in there until he's physically ready. I'd like to see him get another shot personally. If he still looks tentative and not like his freshman self, then yeah, we gotta move on. But those of you who would settle for nothing less than his public execution are ridiculous. I just want to win games ultimately. Whoever gives that to me, IDGAF. Let's just roll.

Not many are throwing CW to the curb. Taylor Swift and maybe a couple of others. LOL

Heck I defended Weigman here in the zoo more than anyone after the ND game for those stating he did nothing his first two years. That RedJalapeño poster I see has been absent since our win so most likely a sip just throwing stones. Posted McGee's video of him propping him for his play during the Miami game. Actually got frustrated with how many Aggies were changing history of him his first two years. But he was not ready to play Vs ND and the rest of the team was ready.

All that being said. I do like what I'm seeing from Reed. At the end of the day it's about winning and everything I'm seeing from him is he's a gamer and my guess will just keep getting better. Does that mean he will be perfect at all times. Of course not. But for all the reasons I have noted here and other threads all week, my guess is he will be the starter on Saturday and moving forward. And if for some reason we need another QB to step up. I hope Conner or Henderson are ready just like Reid was this past Saturday if that time occurs.

100%. Not sure why so many have a personal vendetta against him after 1 bad game.

Give me the guy who gives us the best chance to win. That's not an injured CW, so let him get healthy because we have someone who can potentially take the reins if all else fails.

Whoa there Trigger. Yes Reed played well but he made a few throws that were head scratchers that should have been picked when he had other receivers open. Again, he played well but lets tap the breaks a bit. Having said that, I hope he continues to improve because I do think he had the ability to stress the defense more than what CW has shown thus far.

It's nothing personal AND it was more than just one bad game!

He was DFL in qbr in the NATION. QB1s do not do that at this level, or at least shouldn't.

He ain't right between the ears. He got the yips much like Rick Ankiel of St. Louis Cardinals.

You can not have that type of uncertainty and play at this level because it costs your team wins!

He should have been replaced early in the 3rd quarter vs ND because of his play or lack thereof and this team likely would be 2-0.

Elko definitely should have replaced him at the half, especially since he said CW was injured during that game. Reed would have likely won that game.

I remember when Kenny Hill ran all over South Carolina and we had him suddenly elevated to Heisman candidate in our Kool Aid addled minds. Lets see how this kid does against some of our tougher opponents before overreacting again. Florida had a weak defense.
Let's look at the next 4 games:

Bowling Green (probably not a notably tougher defense than what he faced @ Florida, certainly not the same level of athletes). This should be a W.

Arkansas in Dallas- The other coach on our schedule whom if we win this game he might officially be deadman walking, just as Napier is just a dead man walking now. A bit better offense but defense probably not much different than Florida. I would not consider Arkansas a 'good' team. This is more likely than not a W and we will be favored.

Missouri - This is a good team. We'll see.

Mississippi State - This is a horrid team. Arguably worse than Florida. Arguably even the worst team in any power conference. Absolutely horrid. This should be a W.

--
Anything less than 3-1 in the next 4 games would be a disappointment. We should expect to handle Bowling Green and Miss State and at least split Mizzou and Arky. I expect us to be 5-2 or 6-1 at the 7 game mark.

And if Reed plays all those games, I'm not convinced he'll face a defense notably better than what he faced at Florida other than the Mizzou game.

--
I'm thinking an 8-4 season outlook right now but ask me again after the next 4. If we actually go 4-0 in those, I'll be on the 9-3 season bandwagon.

HOLD ON. Slow down. Tap the brakes!!

I am ALL in on Reed being our started this weekend and showing that his Florida performance was not just sudden lightening in a bottle.

But stating he doesnt turn the ball over like JFF? We dont know that, yet. And honestly, with Reed (more than Weig), I expect far more INTs while he learns. This is where the Zoo must be patient and understanding. Kid shows signs of JFF and with that comes some bad decisions. But the upside and excitement? Could he amazing but I personally have no seen enough to anoint him. I need to see it for 3 games.

If you watch that Gator fan's video, Marcel nearly had an INT last weekend pretty early in the game that I forgot about. Very bad read and it hit a Florida defender in his chest…the guy just dropped it.

Zoo doesn't have that long of memory. Hell most of them had CW winning the heisman this year before they completely flipped and now want to hand it to Reed.

After Reed's first interception I'm sure they'll be calling for Henderson. Then a walk on will be next.

Bill? Agree with most everything you have said on this topic.

Here is my call and why I am so frustrated with the fans.

I am all in on Reed. I think longterm he is the better answer and better fit for Klein. Havent seen that thpe of energy and leadership since JFF. Undeniable.

However, he is young and inexperienced. He missed many wide open WRs and simply didn't see them on the field. That's a-ok. But Reed is 110% destine to throw some rather bad INTs and make some bone headed plays. That is what you get and should expect with such a dynamic player. But I can see him doing this, having a terrible game and everyone revolting.

For some reason, most on here expect instant and perfect results.

Doesnt matter if it is Weigman or Reed moving forward, most TexAgs is gonna ***** and moan about one thing or the other.

Again folks, we are 1-0 in the SEC with a first year coach. Keep that in perspective. If you are demanding CFP, you are destine for total disappointment and more negativity. This team making the CFP is a pipe dream but plausible in Elko's 1st year.

Reed >> Weigman longterm IMO.

Weigman > Reed for the shortterm IMO.

Why I want Reed. I will accept losses and bad mistakes in order to get him there for 2025.

Personally LB1, I think you need to take a chill pill. Bill brought up some excellent points. I think he is spot on to he honest.

It is CALLED being realistic and logical.

Reed is so DAMN exciting. But not enough film to say that he is a better QB this season than Weigman. I am ready for that "experiment" but let's do it with intelligence while giving Weigman a chance to get healthy and prove himself still.

We can play both and make our team stronger. This is a WIN WIN for All.....Reed or Weigman lovers.

Bill threw the punches. He needs to have thicker skin if others push back when he does that one. Or he needs to not throw punches and then act all innocent.

Actually both QBs don't need rotating playing time. That's just what Florida did. It's a horrible idea.

Florida should have learned more from the ND film. They played too soft . Reed hasn't picked up the whole offense yet. The staff is doing a good job keeping it pretty simple for him. He can burn you with his feet for sure and he made good decisions for the most part but Fla didn't press it . I can only think of one really bad decision and it should have been an interception. Some of his completions were good throws and some weren't . I do think he's a better fit for Klein's philosophy but a lot of the reason he/ the Ags were successful was soft defense and blown defensive assignments/execution. Fla safety # 12 doesn't like contact .

It's something to build on for sure but I think upcoming opponents are not going to play into it like Fla did.

it's a new offense for both of them, it seems like the offense had to be dumbed down for Weigman… Reed seems to be able to go through his progressions and how to handle blitzes and understand where the pressures were coming from! Reed might be one of the most intelligent on the team according to interview from himself and teammates

Can't argue your point but my point is they brought more than 4 very little and the safeties were also way back . They tried to play it safe and it got them beat . They refused to force the issue with a young qb in a new offense. Had they been more aggressive Reed may have still burned them but to me you have to force the QB to make tough decisions quickly. That's what I expect from
Opponents in the coming weeks.
