Haha. But unless I am missing something, all the other bowl games out west start early enough so that those in the central or eastern time zone are accommodated. Unless it doesn't matter if no one east of there is likely to watch it.

That's usually if there's only 1 or 2 bowl games that day. Ours is the 4th tomorrow on ESPN. They're starting the first at 11:00 a.m. Central time. Only so many hours in the day.

Too many games in one day then. Ours should be in prime time. They needed to figure out a way where probably the best game of the day doesn't start at 9:30 for one team's market and 10:30 p.m. for the east coast where no one will see it. I don't see any other games starting that late regardless of time zone. How did we get so lucky?

What does the east coast matter with usc vs A&M? I don't think either team has a strong presence over there. Plus I swear we kicked off at 8 pm playing in a NYE bowl in Florida against NC St in 2018. That would've been 9 local time there. It's not unprecedented

The 1990 Holiday Bowl, where we played BYU, kicked off at 4:30 PST (6:30 College Station time). Pretty much the same as it did every year around then.

2006 Holiday Bowl when Cal handed us our ass kicked off at 5p pacific, if we need another example.
Yep watch the 1st quarter not getting my hopes up on our performance. Go to bed at 10:30PM then watch the highlights the next morning = profit
I'm just trying to figure out, objectively, why our game is the best game of the day. For us it sure is, for usc people meh… they don't really care if they aren't in playoffs. Rest of country might watch but doubt more than 1/4 would say it's best matchup of the day. Time slot isn't all that bad we will be on every bar tv in America on Friday night.

That's what you get when you qualify for one of the WGAS Bowls.
Time slot works for me. Not the least bit interested in the first two games. Weather looks to be good during the day for outside activities. Can watch the last half of the tech/ark game for a warm up

Well too bad for me (in Florida), because I actually enjoy these bowl games. I'll see the 10:30 start, but there is no effing way that I'll watch the second half. If history is any guide, this game may end between 1:30 and 2:00 am on the east coast. If it's a slow game, or with overtime, even later than that.
Oh well.
