Let's spend the money on the O Line. Pair him with Lamont Rogers back to back classes and let's get the maroon goons back
He’s a Fighting Texas Aggie and he just don’t give a damn

Aren't they in the same class? He is a definite take if we can get him.

Maybe we can find another 5th year walkon tightend to add though

Just like we were okay when Kelvin Banks went to tu and all was fine because we got PJ Williams, Hunter Erb, and Kam Dewberry

Hypothetically speaking, if he told teams he was looking for 5MM per year, we would tell him we are not interested. It doesn't mean he isn't a take if the price came way down, it just means not worth our time based on how we valued him and we know it

Don't be a moran.

Let's go with a 5'7" WR from a FCS school. A real diamond in the rough.

They don't get it. They think if he's an available 5 star we must do everything we can to land him. Regardless of how it affects the team.

Are we sure Bama's letting him walk or did he just decommit? I know nothing about this kid's character, but it seems a little hasty to assume that him decommitting from Bama is a poor reflection on his person.

Letting him walk is a matter of perspective. If a guy tries to decommit, do you do what it takes to keep him or do you let him walk? I doubt they spontaneously pushed him out the door due to a character issue, but he likely continued shopping himself and they decided not to go any higher than their original agreement. Purely based on their talent evaluation, or maybe talent combined with headache/character. That is "letting him walk"

Having aggie pumpers chime-in on football is like having your dog try to explain differential equations….
Everyone has proof they aren't smart enough to do it but they are fun to watch.

Kelvin Banks decomiited from Oregon. They "let him walk" and there must have been a reason, but t.u. didn't give a shyt so they bought him. The texags brain trust will say that our offense doesn't need another 5-star offensive tackle like haywood because we certainly didn't need Kelvin Banks, but if we keep listening to that horse hockey - it will be another 80 years before a conference title finds its way to College Station.

Clearly there were some lessons we should have learned from the class of 22, aren't they? Buying players who don't really want to be here but only want the biggest payday is a recipe for disaster.

So confident in your assessment of Aggie sports. You act as if there is not a GM position at these major college programs in charge of allocating resources. We must have infinite money, let's just throw money at the 5-star, even though it is a position of strength in the class and there are a million factors that zoo-message-board-poster is not privy to.

Kelvin Banks grew up in humble Texas, and TU was throwing absolute bags trying to get an OL ready for SEC football. So yes, maybe Oregon decided Kelvin Banks wasn't worth it to them. And you know what, they won the Big10 this year and their OL was also just fine. The fact that a player is successful elsewhere isn't an indictment that your program missed on him. There are 32 first round draft picks every year and your school can't afford them all.

You haven't watched a second of Ty Haywood tape to know what makes him a 5 star in the first place, you don't know anything about the kid. But please continue to educate all us pumpers on your GM qualifications

As I recall, nobody said we didn't need Kelvin Banks.
Everybody said tu bought him.

It appears that what everybody is saying that the evidence is pointing towards the asking price being too high for Haywood.

Personally, I don't see why anyone would give a high school player who hasn't played a down of college ball any sort of "crazy" money. Let them prove it first before throwing out the big bucks.

you have to kick the tires on what realistic opportunity there may be with this kid.

question if anyone is aware is texas going after him? they are losing offensive line talent, they have the deepest pocket books or so i have been told. if it's all about money texas will certainly be a player if they are not u have to believe there is something else there. texas is a good litmus test because hypothetically they can chase anyone why wouldn't they be interested in a 5 star offensive tackle.

Continuing to look for a higher bidder after committing is a character issue.

Just fyi: A&M has been mentioned a bunch lately by the #1 overall prospect of the 2026 class- OT Jackson Cantwell from Nixa, MO

Parents were Olympian throwers. He is Olympian quality too in the field. This is about can't miss prospect at this position I've seen. If A&M is able to commit & sign him, you know we are still players in the market.

People in my area have been talking about this kid since he was in middle school.

I must be hallucinating i actually thought i looked at highlight video from haywood, glad you are correcting me and letting me know that "we have great OL and (wait for it) we'll be just fine". Thanks

A+ for the dad joke thrown in. But I'm not really sure what your position is. Are you just saying you won't be happy if we don't land Haywood no matter what? We clearly offered the kid, and are probably in a position now that we can't match what he wants without sacrificing something else. If you're that passionate I'm sure the powers that be will gladly let you make an NIL offer to steer him our way.

Apparently it's hard to project 17-year-old online talent. If he is asking 5MM, or even 2.5, let some other program take the risk.

Spend it on the very best QB, be that, a 5th year Sr or a HS kid.
