There is no emotion in this decision now. I am sorry you are being paid, you need to show up. Just like real life. I am in the camp now, just make them "officially" paid, they sign contracts and guess what they have employment contracts. You don't perform=cut! You have a migraine =cut. The athlete pool will determine how difficult the league is.

Kind of an esoteric point, but some opinions actually are more "valid" than others. For example, in some people's opinion, the earth is flat. Given the abundant scientific evidence, my opinion is that the earth is round - a much more valid opinion.

This is idealistic, but We don't know the ins and outs. i would think he does not receive his full NIL allotment while he is away from the team. Maybe it is cut and dry for certain behavioral or character issues to just cut a guy. But we don't know what's happening, and if it is something that can be salvaged, does it really make our football team better to just tell the kid he is done and to take a hike?

I also don't think every situation in real life warrants this response. If someone is highly replaceable, say a minimum wage position with no firing/hiring headaches, that's one thing. Do companies make themselves better by immediately firing a mid-level employee who needs a mental health break? What are the options to backfill them? Can it happen immediately? What's the cost? How does it impact moral?

Don't need drama queens or too many WR.

Coaches needed to upgrade the WR core this off-season. It's all about results, not excuses. Now maybe they get lucky with a WR from a playoff team at the last minute (getting bailed out), but currently we are set to lose net talent with our departures (especially losing Noah Thomas).

Our WR talent absolutely increased this offseason even without Micah. Not really debatable.

Now, production is debatable. That's definitely a concern. We need more production. But saying it's a net loss of talent is just not something I'll agree with.

The biggest bang for the buck we'll get for our receiving core is for Reed to continue to make positive strides on his reads and accuracy. I suspect we'll see even more improvement in year two during his natural progression which then will make the receivers benefactors. Now if they start dropping balls, then we have a problem.

I think Concepcion and Myles will be great, but to say we absolutely upgraded is hilarious

We're replacing older players that weren't productive but you have an emotional connection to with young talent.

Cyrus Allen did nothing here, Tre Watson did nothing here, Barber was hyped up and was a solid player for us but still didn't do much here, I think we underutilized Jahdae but he regressed in production last year. That "4th string WR from Miss St" had number equal to or better than every WR we had outside of Noah yet he was a freshman.

If every one of those players had a year left and entered the portal, the list of suitors would likely be drastically different than the ones we fought off to bring the new guys in. Noah was easily the biggest loss.

Craver was a true freshman that only played in 8 games and would have been our second best WR this year. Also based on ratings Concepcion is better than Thomas and Craver is equal to.

Last year our best transfer receiver was Cyrus Allen and he'd be our 4th best pick up this year (includes Hudson).

If you can't see that we increased our talent that's says a lot about you. Now production we are replacing 4 guys but only Thomas did anything special and it wasn't outstanding. (That does not mean he's not a big loss)

Aside from Concepcion it's all unproven talent, that's what i'm saying. We return 1 touchdown from the receiver room.

And I'm the biggest Concepcion fan, even if he burned my fantasy team last year by being an early pick lol

Again Concepcion and Craver have production to back them up. And we have a lot of talent that are freshmen (true and redshirt).

Adding Wallace would alleviate the production and upperclassmen issue.

You can argue production but not talent.

Concepcion has more yards in two years than Thomas in three. Craver had more production than Allen or Walker in just 8 games and had slightly less production than Barber. I'd have loved to have kept Thomas and I hope Hudson is fine but even without those the WR room is improved.

And Watson isn't a WR.

Agree to disagree. Athletic upgrade really cannot be argued. We got significantly faster at the position.

Now, like I said that you must have just ignored, from production standpoint? That's an unknown. We don't know what it will amount to. Losing Noah, Walker, and Barber was more overall production than what we return (though close with Concepcion/Craver). But WR is a position where a guy can go from 0 to 1000 yards real quick.

High end talent and upside is higher. The ceiling is higher. The floor? That's perfectly debatable and could be worse for all we know. We need to add another WR for good measure to raise our floor at the position, and still hope Hudson comes back for the ceiling.

And Craver when healthy was likely their 2nd best. As a true freshman. Just FYI. He averaged more yards per game than the 2nd and 3rd leading guys. More yards per reception. Just as many touchdowns. Just played in less games. Again, as a true fish versus a SR and JR. Talent upside is way higher than those 2 at Miss State.

Sorry, I have to kind of disagree here. I once made a point about our defense being very poor against Auburn and debated with vander and he called me "a triggered little man"

Even if I do deserve some heat from time to time (when I have a bad attitude) vander is not always respectful if you disagree with him.

It has absolutely nothing to do with you disagreeing with me.

It has everything to do with how upset you got when I pointed to the flaws in your arguement and how you ignored them and went after something else.
