Who are you to judge? Your opinions aren't any more valid than the next guy.
Kind of an esoteric point, but some opinions actually are more "valid" than others. For example, in some people's opinion, the earth is flat. Given the abundant scientific evidence, my opinion is that the earth is round - a much more valid opinion.

But the earth being round isn't an opinion. It's fact.

There is no emotion in this decision now. I am sorry you are being paid, you need to show up. Just like real life. I am in the camp now, just make them "officially" paid, they sign contracts and guess what they have employment contracts. You don't perform=cut! You have a migraine =cut. The athlete pool will determine how difficult the league is.

This is idealistic, but We don't know the ins and outs. i would think he does not receive his full NIL allotment while he is away from the team. Maybe it is cut and dry for certain behavioral or character issues to just cut a guy. But we don't know what's happening, and if it is something that can be salvaged, does it really make our football team better to just tell the kid he is done and to take a hike?

I also don't think every situation in real life warrants this response. If someone is highly replaceable, say a minimum wage position with no firing/hiring headaches, that's one thing. Do companies make themselves better by immediately firing a mid-level employee who needs a mental health break? What are the options to backfill them? Can it happen immediately? What's the cost? How does it impact moral?

And not to mention it's not what you say, but how you say it. Vander is respectful and maintains civil discussions, several take joy in being dcks and slurp up the negativity and conflict like their 6th grade chocolate milk.

And here is another thing. This is a texas tech insider. There have been narratives on this board of tech not wanting him, and him costing us an arm and a leg in NIL.

But I'm sure some will still believe what they want to. Sounds like tech did in fact want him, and we didn't break the bank to get him. He also didn't preclude us from landing a guy like Nic Anderson. We just flat lost that battle, mostly due to LSU having far more productive WRs than us the last decade.

Micah is still enrolled at A&M and still has a chance to play for us this fall. I'm not holding my breath, but I'm glad we took him, especially since NIL wasn't a game changer. He isn't keeping us from landing talent at DT or another WR.

The biggest bang for the buck we'll get for our receiving core is for Reed to continue to make positive strides on his reads and accuracy. I suspect we'll see even more improvement in year two during his natural progression which then will make the receivers benefactors. Now if they start dropping balls, then we have a problem.

Aside from Concepcion it's all unproven talent, that's what i'm saying. We return 1 touchdown from the receiver room.

And I'm the biggest Concepcion fan, even if he burned my fantasy team last year by being an early pick lol
vander54
How long do you want to ignore this user?
S
Again Concepcion and Craver have production to back them up. And we have a lot of talent that are freshmen (true and redshirt).

Adding Wallace would alleviate the production and upperclassmen issue.

You can argue production but not talent.

Sorry, I have to kind of disagree here. I once made a point about our defense being very poor against Auburn and debated with vander and he called me "a triggered little man"

Even if I do deserve some heat from time to time (when I have a bad attitude) vander is not always respectful if you disagree with him.
vander54

It has absolutely nothing to do with you disagreeing with me.

It has everything to do with how upset you got when I pointed to the flaws in your arguement and how you ignored them and went after something else.

Maybe I misinterpreted you but based on your posting history I doubt it.

OH BS.

You said if you ignore the first 21 points then the D was very good against Auburn. That's a silly argument anyway as the first 21 points count.

But having said that I pointed out that the Defense was not very good as they let Auburn drive down the field for the winning score.

You were the one that kept changing the goalposts on that stupid argument.

Besides name calling from you is not respectful.
vander54
How long do you want to ignore this user?
S
Ok buddy.

I'm sorry i hurt your feelings. But my argument never changed and I still stand by my statement that what killed us against Auburn was our first 3 drives. They held them after that but obviously not enough.

But this is really starting to derail the thread so let it go.

I stand by my statements.

The past debate doesn't matter but the fact is you always try to see the team with rosy glasses and are often not realistic.

And then if anyone questions you, then you resort to (sometimes) being defensive, rude and calling people names.

the top 4 reception leaders for A&M last year:

39 - Thomas
38 - Barber
29 - Walker
21 - Watson

it's just not a passing offense

top 4 reception leaders:

69 - Evans
60 - Kennedy
51 - Walker
51 - Labhart

now that's a passing offense

the "4th" WR in 2013 had 12 more catches than the "1st" WR in 2024

It's definitely a run first offense. But a lot of this also has to do with QB issues and WR talent. There are multiple variables involved. Get Manziel and Evans on this offense and those numbers go up.

But no, it's not going to be like the 2013 offense regardless. It doesn't need to be. Even Georgia's national title offense was not as much of a passing offense as we were in 2012/2013.

Also, don't forget total snaps. That plays a big factor. I think that team averaged 10 more plays per game.

Also destroys your defense over the course of the season.

I miss those days. It was more of a novel offense in the SEC at the time. Now most others have moved to that and we've, well, regressed.

Hey man that's the aggie way. Find something that you do well and then stop doing it.

We stopped doing it well when we lost our 1st round QB, WRs, and OL. Ironic, isn't it? Those guys would have done any offense well.

I don't think you remember how much stress those offenses also put on our defense throughout the year. If you can't find first downs, like we were unable to from all of 2014-2017, you wear them out.

We are reminiscing about Sumlin's style of play. FFS. Damn you Fisher for even putting this in people's minds.

This is not a "nasty" comment… And it makes me uncomfortable to even consider it…

In A&M's recent history, we've had a talented WR with previous non-football issues that sidelined a promising career, and later resulted in tragedy…

I'm praying this isn't a reprise… Wishing Micah the best for Micah…

Football ain't that darn important…

I was just gonna post the same. Not only dumdasses but pretty clueless individuals who say that don't understand mental health issues. Kinda disgusting to see a lot of these immensely insensitive posters. Can only imagine how they treat others in life. Gotta love all the younger Ags who grew up on devices as infants....brain chemistry permanently altered from blue screen time. Just saying.

Hudson get better. Football is simply a game.

That offense sucks ass without truly transcendent talent. And no SEC champion runs it. Teams that do, end up losing a game or 2 every year because that is what that offense does.

It was a fun offense to watch when things were clicking but if they werent our defense would get gassed quick.
