Like DJ Lagway last year in Gainesville?

Every once in a while we get it right, but there's too many shea patterson's in there to make me feel confident we'll shut this guy down
I know many first had this experience when that unknown backup for Colorado came off the bench to beat us. Was that 1995?

Yep

John Hessler

Freakin unreal dropping dimes all over the field

Aggie D knocked Coy Detmer out of the game in the 1st Q, then Hessler (who?) came in and did that...pissed me off!

Yep

After starting the game with a sack fumble td and then knocking their starting qb out you'd think we'd have won that game

Freakin unreal how bad our luck is in big games and how we just almost never rise up to the occasion as a team in any major sport

The most possible outcome is that the team is unfocused and starry-eyed playing in South Bend and underperforms. It happens time and time again in big games.

Yep

That's the likely outcome

I've seen it too many times to think otherwise

Will the game be on national tv? Is it against a blue blood team? Do we have the opportunity to change the narrative?

Call me crazy, but I'm gonna say we lose, and we do so in embarrassing fashion.

Crazy hunch. I get them from time to time.
It's a tradition.

Yup! All the pregame hype will be about how great of defensive wizard Elko while Reed is the next big thing only watch Notre Dame pound the ball down our throat for 4 quarters while Reed scores 17 points. "This young Notre dame up grew up tonight stomping a veteran Aggie team 30-17."

Beating ND in South Bend against a new Red Shirt QB Carr, grandson of old MI Coach, should be easier.

I like Elko's odds in this game a win catapults the program.
Mike has to beat newbie QB's.

ND lost some top talent to the draft
Marcel Reed with better WR's

They thought the same thing about JF. Since then I don't take any unknowns for granted.

I actually think we win this one

Then we'll get a huge ego, & the hype train will build, & then we'll **** the bed in the big conference games that actually matter

In a cruel irony we $#i+ the bed In Fayetteville after a decade of complaining about playing at JerryWorld He go there and lose a close one

Then the pumpers come here for easy stars, convincing the board that everything is ok and we're still a good team

Don't forget about the back-up QBs. They have career days against us, too.

Y'all are like a group of blind men trying to describe an elephant.

The 2025 team will take us to heights of optimism, only to fail in the most painful, unexplainable way.

That's the elephant

We're a 7-5 / 8-4 program. The "toughest" part of predictions is just mapping out the Ls. I'm guessing this is one of them though.

Honestly it's pretty easy this year

@ ND
@ Arky
@ LSU
@ Sip
@ Bowl opponent

8-5 as always

ND had 4 Starting OL get injured last season.
They made the title game with multiple backups.
ALL the original Starting OL is back. The three OL who entered the portal did so because they were the backups & would not be starting this year.

The starting OL vs A&M will be:
LT Knapp (started against A&M last year as a true freshman). Was a Freshman All American.
LG Schrauth Preseason All American
C Craig Was stating Center two seasons ago & last season before injury
RG Jagusah The original LT last season but tore pec in Fall Camp. Came back to play in CFP Semifinal & title games.
RT Wagoner Only OL to start all 16 games last season.

The ND OL is widely projected as the best returning OL in the country by college football outlets.

ND didn't really lose that much in the draft.

QB will be the only question mark.

ND lost Watts at Safety. Morrison at CB (who only played 6 of 16 games & was replaced by All American Moore).
Lost Kiser at LB. Lost Mills & Cross on DL. Lost Evans at TE. That's about it.

ND returns all 5 Starting OL & expected to be best OL in the country.
ND returns all 3 RBs (Love, Price & Williams) & viewed as best RB room in country.
ND returns top 2 WRs (Greathouse & Faison) & brought in top WR in portal (Fields).
ND returns three top DL who were injured last season, plus all but two others who played the CFP. So 8 of top 10 DL.
Returns 4 of 5 LBs in the two deep. Including 2 startes fr CFP run.
Returns 3 of the 4 CFP starters in the secondary, including AA Moore who played final 10 games after Morrison injury. Got Alabama former starter under Saban, & preseason All SEC Safety before injury last year, in portal to play the 4th spot.

ND brought WAY more back than they lost.
They had 11 starters get injured last year & played the CFP with a lot of 2nd & 3rd string in the 2-deep.
So a lot of players who were injured early & ones who played the entire CFP because of it are coming back.

If ND just gets above average QB play, they are easily a CFP team.

Losing to a talented veteran team (like ND) on the road is excusable. That same excuse won't be in play at Arky, at LSU, hosting Auburn, hosting Florida, and at tu.

You just gave every pumper here "we're still good and it's still early" fuel for when the inevitable loss happens

Thanks

We're gonna get our asses kicked. It is what we do in big early games against teams that end up the year being really good.

I'd expect 34-17 or something like that.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Yeah, this game will put this year in perspective pretty quickly, I imagine.
