I was trying to figure out why the hell they were showing main street grapevine on the trailer but then remembered they do all the rankings and selections not very far away at Gaylord on Lake Grapevine

As if Game Day does not provide enough hype and "reality" to the sport. Hardpass.

Im so sad that all the changes in cfb has all but totally killed my interest in the sport.

Now that the CFB is professional sports it is all so scripted and tidy.
What should be shown is all the train wrecks who played but did not get to the NFL.

Based on the preview it looks like the might have been at Kyle for the LSU game. I am super excited for this behind the scenes coverage.

Those other SEC teams will regret not joining up for this. Netflix has a huge reach.

Edit: eh, we didn't get that much focus anyway. But it would've been more free publicity for the schools who didn't sign up, and I'd still say that's a miss on their part. Unless they didn't want their coach to be exposed like I'm sure sark is an absolute dork like Brian Kelly is an a-hole.

They filmed the whole fall. It was announced in May of 2024 and the schools had the option to get on board or not before fall camp.

I'm glad we did. People can still have PTSD about Sidelines 25 years later, but this is not that. Full Swing and Drive to Survive were fantastic, and this is the same production team.

There's a reason Hard Knocks remains incredibly popular after 20 years. And it's not because the NFL isn't "over saturated".

Not sure what else the haters are gonna do between 8/5 and 8/29 besides just post on message boards (which is what the current btching is.)

They got a free education for not all that many hours work. Not that very many "student athletes" in college football took advantage of that and became doctors or lawyers or dentists or teachers, etc. Far from indentured servanthood (sic). Perhaps you meant indentured servitude?

Entertaining but I worry it'll be a distraction to our team.

Just started it, and they barely showed us in the second episode, which was all about Florida. I didn't see us in the descriptions except for the Auburn game and the Texas game. Watching the latter now.

I have liked the Vanderbilt part the best so far.

Really enjoyed it and I've only watched the 1st episode. Beamer seems like a great father figure.

You can't get an actual degree as a football player. There's a reason the only players in STEM are career backups and special teams players.

The Aggies v LSU game really delivered. 1 play. Final score flashes. "LSU loses". 10 total seconds. On to more story about LSU. Our featured spot is the last episode losing to you know who.

But overall I thought the show was good, the parts I skipped around and watched anyway. Doesn't hold a candle to The Pulse though

Yet they have a full 45 minutes on Graham Mertz and Lagway. Honestly I was bored by the Florida QB1 episode. You can't convince me that a better episode wouldn't have been to take the best 20 years minutes of the Florida situation combined with the Reed-Weigman story culminating with the LSU game.

Yes, the Gator part was the worst so far. Boring

So you miss the good old days when the majority of players became doctors, lawyers, dentists and teachers?

I bet the players are using their degrees in the same way they always have. Only now they get paid for the work they do at the actual value. Look at what that Tech guy said in that interview. He's saying there are a LOT of 4-5 star guys who are actually being UNDERPAID in the current system and they are going to go after them.

EXACTLY.
AND they had a tailor made story line with Lagway from Bryan, TX and then we come to town with our own RS Freshman starter and not even mentioned.
At least we kicked their asses in the Swamp.

I haven't made it to any of our stories yet though...

they better show Miami beating the hell out of the Gators

Watched a little more. One thing that is standing out to me is Brian Kelly. Just my opinion but I doubt he wins anything big at LSU and is gone in 2-3 years. I see why Notre Dame is doing better now that he is gone.

So far they've mostly shown LSU. The Vandy piece was really good.
They show us beating UF, LSU, losing to Auburn.
Havent got to the Texas game yet.

But damn this is like a LSU doc more than anything

*also noticed they skipped the controversial call that allowed LSU to survive USCar. Which is crap.

It's been pretty fun. Episode 6 has a JFF spot.

They clearly had rules to not show corrupt officiating.

I never understood why anyone would ever want to play for him and this show only made this opinion even stronger. I wouldn't be able to stand being yelled at by someone with a nasally voice like his. He just comes off as a sissy to me.
