Arch Manning completed 15/29 (51.72%) of his pass attempts for 258 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions against sunbelt ULM. That is just average against a Group of 5 team. He played much better against Mississippi State, who had the worse defense in the SEC by a big margin. He completed 26/31 (83.9%) of his pass attempts for 325 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions.
Arch Manning 2024 Stats per Game - NCAAF - ESPN
I think Arch Manning will have good season, but the hype is way over the top.
I think you have to look at the whole season instead of cherry picking one game, no? I mean he was 26/31 against MSST but I'm not counting that either. Bottom line is we'll know more after today. But even this one game won't define his season one way or another whether he's 52% or 83% iit's still just one game.
My guess is his completion % will be lower than Quinn's, his YPA will be 20-30% higher, and he'll rush for about 50 yds per game. Heisman worthy? No. Good enough to be competitive in every game on their schedule? Probably so.
That doesn't seem implausible. But to date he's been more accurate than Ewers (66.3% to 64.9%), YPA is 30% higher (10.4 to 8), but he's only rushed for 115 yards in 12 games and 28 attempts (4.1 YPC). It would take 12+ carries per game to get the 50.
He can scramble, and he'll have designed rush plays, but I doubt it's enough to average 50 per game and get 600+ on the ground in the regular season. It's an unnecessary injury risk if nothing else.
You'd think at Ohio State would depress those numbers for the nonce too.
