Arch Manning completed 15/29 (51.72%) of his pass attempts for 258 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions against sunbelt ULM. That is just average against a Group of 5 team. He played much better against Mississippi State, who had the worse defense in the SEC by a big margin. He completed 26/31 (83.9%) of his pass attempts for 325 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions.

I think Arch Manning will have good season, but the hype is way over the top.

If we are comparing unwarranted hype, some might remember Beano Cook predicted that Ron Powlus would win the Heisman Trophy twice in his college football career and would be the best quarterback to ever play at Notre Dame.

I'm not sure Arch is getting quite the same hype for a guy that had not played a down of college football.

Beano predicted that he would win 3 Heismans, not 2.

This happens at sip all of the time.

I think he'll be a very good QB, but all the hype he is getting im not sure anyone could ever live up to. He has looked pretty mediocre in games against good teams, but he's QB1 now and has an entire camp under his belt. We will see.

His uncles have won multiple Super Bowls and have the most entertaining broadcast in football, and his Grandpa was also a college and NFL star. He's the QB for a blue blood program ranked #1 pre season on a team loaded with talent and the biggest NIL pot that was a game away from the national title last year. The hype is warranted.

However, to steal a line from the Cowboy's documentary on netflix - there's 500 guys that could win with the team he has.

Technically he said "at least twice."

I honestly see Arch as a very humble and likeable dude. He's handled the hype train pretty well so far. Not getting too ahead of himself and too cocky and what not. I respect the hell out of those types of athletes.

I think he will be good. Will he live up to the most enormous hype train someone has ever received? Probably not. He's still unproven and has a lot of room to grow.

With that being said, I'd definitely root for him if he wasn't wearing that awful burnt orange repping that azzclown school in Austin.

Powlus had never played a down, and his hype was ridiculous compared to Arch's.

Ok. Just wanted to make sure. I'd bet there are a lot of people on here that don't know that Arch has actually played some games.

I'm surprised at how few views on youtube the Espn videos with him in the title are getting. People don't seem to care. Been incredibly weak, even as they milk it and this game.

We will know if there is any truth to the hype in like 24 hours?

Yet you create another thread to hype the hype

He may **** the bed completely in Columbus then no more hype

Or more hypes…that's the way this thing is going

I think most of the media hype is because they know it generates outrage which generates relevance. It's clickbait of sorts. Generating hype for an unproven player is the easiest rage that could ever be generated…Which is good for business..

Who's Arch Manning?

He's the quarterback for UT. He's the nephew of the Manning brothers and the grandson of Archie Manning. Nationally, a lot of people are excited about him, but some think he's overrated and the hype is undeserved.

arch will be good, many hope he will not, but unfortunately in that family it doesn't appear that the apple falls to far from the trees. that doesn't mean he will be as good as peyton or eli but he will be good i am sure. the hype is over the top, it will be damn near i possible for him to live up to it.

I have NO DOUBT Arch will be great... IN THE NFL!!! However, history has shown that the Manning family don't exactly put up amazing collegiate numbers (Peyton being an outlier even though he never beat Florida; Eli was just mid at Ole Piss). So, even if he is just 'extra-ordinary' at t.u., if I'm a NFL GM, I'll be hard pressed not to draft him if he's healthy & available.

Kinda where I am at. He's hard to hate, and the only reason I don't like him is because he's wearing burnt orange. He's done it the way every one who complains about the modern NIL athlete wishes these kids would behave. He's waited his turn. He hasn't thrown a fit. He hasn't transferred. He's kept his chin up and been a team player.

I just hope it doesn't go well for him until he makes it to the NFL.

I think you have to look at the whole season instead of cherry picking one game, no? I mean he was 26/31 against MSST but I'm not counting that either. Bottom line is we'll know more after today. But even this one game won't define his season one way or another whether he's 52% or 83% iit's still just one game.

My guess is his completion % will be lower than Quinn's, his YPA will be 20-30% higher, and he'll rush for about 50 yds per game. Heisman worthy? No. Good enough to be competitive in every game on their schedule? Probably so.

That doesn't seem implausible. But to date he's been more accurate than Ewers (66.3% to 64.9%), YPA is 30% higher (10.4 to 8), but he's only rushed for 115 yards in 12 games and 28 attempts (4.1 YPC). It would take 12+ carries per game to get the 50.

He can scramble, and he'll have designed rush plays, but I doubt it's enough to average 50 per game and get 600+ on the ground in the regular season. It's an unnecessary injury risk if nothing else.

You'd think at Ohio State would depress those numbers for the nonce too.
