I can't bring myself to care about Arkansas or Missouri. Texas and LSU were obvious. The third didn't really matter so long as it wasn't Alabama or Georgia. Missouri works just fine since we should have enough resources to beat them regularly. Do you guys actually care about Arkansas?

The bolded is true.

Going off the criteria the SEC used for setting these games, one of which was longevity, then Arkansas was also obvious. A&M and Piggy have played 81 times. For comparison, the sips and pigs have played 80 times. While we never participated in a "Game of the Century" as the sips and pigs did in 1969 (for the national title that President Nixon attended), it does not change the fact that the pigs are one of A&M's longest running series (behind tu, Baylor, TCU, Rice, and SMU). Obviously those last 4 are not included in this conversation.

Missouri can be a great recruiting base for us. It is one of only two states ( the other being Tennessee) that is bordered by 8 states. It has a very credible Vet School and is one of the top Ag Schools in the country. I have been to the campus for various Wildlife and Fisheries conferences and seminars and its culture and fan base reminds me of TAM in the 70's and 80's. Respectable and friendly folks with old school Ag backgrounds. They aren't a " throw trash and obnoxious" fan base like some we deal with.

You are correct. Despite the SEC not calling them permanent and saying they are only for 4 years, then reassess, people insist they are permanent.

Some are permanent. We are never not going to play tu. Iron and egg bowl will always happen

I think you are ignoring common sense. What is going to change in four years time that would cause the SEC to make massive scheduling changes. Are new exciting rivals going to emerge? No. Are they going to say some schedules are too hard or not hard enough? No. So try to imagine a scenario where in four years they shake things up?

You are ignoring the plain language of what they are saying. These aren't all "rivalries". They are not claiming they are. You entire argument is based on the falsehoods of "permanent" and "rivals" that don't apply.

Bookmark this. I guarantee you we don't play Mizzou in 2030.

Arkansas should have gotten Ole Miss instead of LSU. OU should have gotten LSU.

If they had made the schedules like this the only obvious mess up would have been the Vols getting 2 of the bottom 3 teams.

But they have 3 programs that don't make sense as far as leveling.

I think this is the one change that will occur in 4 years. Especially if Lane leaves Ole Miss.

Far fetched but not hard.
UT makes the CCG 3-4 years by a one game margin, while soundly whipping UK and Vandy all 4 years. Complaints from the teams with two upper echelon fixed rivalry games that barely missed the SEC championship game and possibly playoffs could see that UK game swapped out for something more challenging to balance the advantage.

Is our admin completely owned by tu? Why do they have to be our permanent rival. The horns have a sick obsession with us.

Hey - I think Mizzou for us is a better game each year. Arkie is always physical, always beating teams up, injuries, etc - I think to think Mizzou is more finesse than Arkie so I think it's an easier physical game, we tend to handle Mizzou quite well, and we probably deal with less politically at Mizzou vs Jerry Jones/Arkie.

I wish we had closer options - OU for example - but thats a tougher game for certain.

Since joining the SEC, we're only 3-2 vs Mizzou.

That's what makes the most sense. Sure, maybe the SEC bent over to tu yet again, but I think there is an easy case to make for Arkansas preferring to play Texas. They got 14 years of us and it didn't go very well. I'd want to switch it up too, if I were them.

Original plan of schedule A&M for a win and recruiting foothold in Texas didn't quite go as planned.

I mean…it was going according to plan until Petrino pulled out his hog and then fell off his hog.

Sounds good. Bookmark it. Look at the mess with home and away this created. The next time the SEC reviews this is after the next round of realignment.

All 3 wins were not close. Their two wins were only by one score and over 10 years ago. And his biggest point was the physical aspect of the games Vs the Hogs which is dead on.

Jerry thought he set up a big annual showcase for his beloved hogs comparable to the RRS in his own stadium.

As for Mizzou, they should've gotten a former SEC East school like Carolina as a permanent instead of A&M. I would've preferred State over Mizzou, personally, but Ags shouldn't really complain after getting the other 2.

I bet Missouri pushed to get one of the two Texas teams They want a foot in the door for recruiting.

This is such fake news. You don't know anything about me or my small but thriving business. I don't even have a grandson you freak. And even if I did, I wouldn't be allowed within one hundred (100) yards (3 feet).

Don't ever talk like you know me again!
