Hes throwing a stinker tonight

To be fair to Connor that was a physical mismatch. He was never going to overcome the mismatch of talent in that game.

Reed = 3-0 versus real teams

Arch = 0-2 versus real teams

because I'm not seeing either one is very good…

Of course both are in their first seasons as starters. But what I'm seeing is Klein coaching his QB up, getting him reps in areas that aren't his strongest skill set. He's creating a lot of coaching opportunities and keeping Reed healthy. Same with running those straight ahead plays at the goal line, OL has to learn to execute crucial rushing plays for us to reach our goals. Klein let Reed use his legs on a couple plays in the 4th qtr and gave him some plays he's comfortable with. Coaches are working hard to have these kids ready for the back half of the season.

Reed over Manning but I think Reed is a WR playing QB. This makes his run game elevated but his accuracy is not so good.

Manning so far just stinks. Can't throw accurate or on time.

Which won't beat cover 2 and cover 3 zones in the sec. Read is on time, high velocity and nailing 10-20 yard zone beaters and moving the offense. He's way ahead of Manning on reading defense quickly and nailing it. I'll bet he will be more easily able to add some loft on deep balls than Manning will at reading and reacting to defenses in general and delivering balls in tight windows to exploit coverages.

Not sure how anyone would want Manning over Reed, especially if we are talking about today and not some mythical future state where Arch evolves into at least a poor man's Eli.

Only seen Arch twice. OSU and gator and he looked exactly the same. No improvement whatsoever. Still inaccurate and indecisive about where and when to throw. Marcel lacks consistent accuracy but doesn't look hesitant about where he wants to throw and will wing it. If my QB is 50-60% completion % at least don't compound it by also being indecisive.

You obviously weren't watching Reed in the Miss St game. He was double pumping and not setting his feet on throws in 1st Half - so much so even the ESPN color guy Jordan Rodgers (a ex-QB) was calling it out w/ replay to support. He was hesitant and it affecting his accuracy a number of times on throws in the 1st Half.

But he wins and that's all that matters. I don't care if he dances the tootsie roll in the backfield, he keeps winning.

For now - it'll catch up to him and us like it was in the 1st Half.

I don't necessarily mind them putting Reed in uncomfortable positions. You gotta learn somehow. But let's get up big before we start the learning.
