The Wall Street Journal surveyed what alumni make. A&M was 33 in the nation and First in the SEC. tu was 49 in the nation. We got $$$$ and now we are much larger that $$$ should only grow if we keep STEM major focus.

I don't pay much attention to them at all. We have too much on our plate rto even think about them at the moment. At 5-0 each game becomes a lot bigger than the rest.

11. I play golf with a whole bunch of WalMart longhorns. None of them went to tu, they just went to WalMart for all that tu gear they're always decked out in.
I doubt any of them have ever even been to austin, let alone to a game. Most are OK guys, but a couple are unbearably arrogant and obnoxious. So yes, I am beyond delighted and ecstatic the cows are falling on their face. Naturally I'm glad they're losing, but them also falling out of the top 25 is just icing on the cake and it's so, so sweet. Maybe it'll shut their stupid a$$e$ up.

This is a business and Texas is the #1 competitor in the industry. It's good for business when they're not performing well.

enjoy it a LOT for this reason: i was pizzed (and shocked) last year at how easy their first year was in SEC and how much success they had.

We really "need" this current landscape to right the football landscape in Texas, SEC, and the nation.

Texas not even being ranked while we're #5 is huge on many levels, including recruiting.

I would say 10 because of I live in Austin and West Campus area. I am not surprised that Texas fell out of the rankings Texas is 0-2 against Power 4 opponents. Yes, both games were on the road, and Texas does not play an SEC home game until Vanderbilt on 11/1. But they lost to a Florida team that was coming off a 3-game losing streak, including an embarrassing 18-16 home loss to South Florida on 9/6.

Texas is currently a 1.5-point favorite over Oklahoma because John Mateer will likely be out for the Red River Rivalry. Texas will probably be road favorites at Kentucky and Mississippi State, but i won't be surprised if Mississippi State beats Texas. It would be hilarious if Mississippi State loses a road game at Florida on 10/18 for their 15th consecutive SEC loss and snaps that losing streak with a win over Texas.

Texas will probably be a home favorites over Vanderbilt and Arkansas, and a road underdog at Georgia. I won't be surprised if Texas loses 3 more games to Oklahoma, Mississippi State, and Georgia for a 6-5 record before playing us. Beating Texas in Austin to secure our first ever SEC Championship appearance would be the icing on the cake.

given they are our biggest rival and their success or lack thereof directly effects our ability to recruit and build a championship team (the inverse is true as well) I would say 10 to the 10th power.

This is not about obsession or jealousy, in the eternal hunt for resources they are our biggest competition, so, yea, it matters

That's an outdated way of thinking.

In addition to a competitive recruitment advantage and silencing an arrogant fanbase (especially the t-shirt sips), it's important for the sips to be completely irrelevant before November. The less they have one the line, I'm hopeful Sankey, Matt Loeffler, and Eugene Semko will feel the need to alter the officiating.
