Flags fly forever. And the season they had was worth every penny. I doubt they even would notice a return to obscurity but assuming they will doesn't make it likely or true.

Not only does he have their only natty, but he has their only 10 win seasons, too. He could go 9-4 for the next 10 years and and they'd still keep him.

If he goes 0-24 the next two years, they won't regret paying him.

They will.
Because they paid him AFTER the NC win.
So for the big money they paid him, they would get 0-24.

He is being paid big bucks not for the NC but for the next NC.

they gave him the bump from about $4mm to the $11mm+ base before he won the championship.

you seem really on top of things here.

short of being caught with a corpse in bed, indiana is not going to grow tired of him.

He could go 6-6 until his contract expires and they would just ride it out.

He could go 6-6 the next 10 years and would have the best winning percentage of any coach they've had since 1904. Even excluding the past 2 years, he could go 6-6 the next 10 years and would have the best winning percentage of any coach they've had since 1947.

Yeah. He's brought more success in 2 years than they've ever had. I only say 9-4 because this board would **** bricks if a coach did that. As far as Indiana is concerned, Cigneti can stay as long as he wants.

This is a really good deal for both parties. Not sure why anyone would be suggesting this is a stupid deal... The way college football is they have a very good coach at fair market value.

LOL, they're still a basketball school. Their success these two seasons is impressive but they'll come back down before too long. tOSU, Michigan, PSU will make sure of it.

Seriously doubt that. Think he is the best coach in D1 by a stretch right now. 2026 will either prove that or not. Cause he has a total rebuild coming.

We're a football school and in the past 20 years, has the same # of 10 win seasons as Indiana which is one.

We don't have room to talk.

2012 and 2025… that's 2, right?

Bump. Looks like a steal.

He's worth his full contract even if they never make the playoffs again. Can't put a price on a natty.
