Do you remember end of the Mack Brown era? Charlie Strong, Tom Herman. The irrelevance the program was for nearly a decade.

Coaching changes are generally not a boost to a program.

I think you are going to see a paradigm shift where you may not hire the flashiest of coaches but a good solid coach AND hire a solid GM that can help acquire talent via the portal and salary cap. I think the days of cult of personality coaches are ending

I think Lane stays at Ole Piss. He's got it rolling and they are ready to build statues of him. His comments about not being about money suggest he is probably not going anywhere. Why go from a place where you are revered, you are making the CFP, you got it rolling to a place where if you don't win pretty enough and kiss the right ass, you'll be **** canned?

Ed O was perfect for LSU and he was **** canned. LSU should re-hire Ed O and get him a good GM and 2 good coordinators. He would be in CFP inside of 2 years

It would be less surprising if he retires from coaching at the end of this season. His sons are gone. The shine has worn off. Plus his health issues.

Auburn fired Freeze.

PSU, Florida, LSU, and Auburn will be hiring 4 coaches with massive guaranteed contracts. And it is highly likely these new coaches will be fired as well. Money to burn.

Rumors in the Tennessee AD office this morning of a potential Josh Heupel buyout. Depending factors on the outcome of the Florida & Vandy games.

The only name being thrown out there is Lane Kiffin as a replacement. Kiffin has referenced many times how much he misses Tennessee.

Somehow I doubt that Kiffin wants to go back to the Vols. Nor do I think the majority of the fan base would welcome him back either. Not after he left them high and dry taking recruits and coaches with him to USC.

And the Vols have a very loud fan base who get heavily involved in coaching searches and if they don't like the rumored candidate, they let the AD know and run them off. Why Fulmer had to step in and be interim AD a few years back.
