Based on what? Forecast is actually improving.

Playing earlier (11 a.m.) would probably increase the chances of a mid-game interruption given the timing of the initial wave of thunderstorms.

Because there's lightning in the forecast

The. Rain. Has. Nothing. To. Do. With. It.

The heavy rain is where the lightning will be.

We're rolling thunder, pouring rain, we'll be coming on like a hurricane. White lighting flashing across the sky, they're only young, but they're going to die.

Forecast I have seen for Saturday night is heavy thunderstorms and possible tornados (probably means clear skies and 70 degrees - ha!).

Aggie Band supposedly briefed that game time could be changed, for what that is worth.

Would be somewhat easy for ABC to just swap our game for 11 am Ole Miss-Oklahoma you would think, but maybe not.

Maybe LSU will just decide to forfeit due to weather. Coach Bill Curry refused to bring Alabama to College Station for a September game due to threat of a hurricane in late 80s. Weather turned out nice and I don't think the game was ever made up.

It was made up later (perhaps early December). My first Aggie game.

Yes it was....called hurricane bowl and we lost in the make up game. Everyone essentially came in for free and they would let us come and go...these were the days could go out at half time to rejoin tailgate with goofy in/out ticket or run to liquor store to get a 5th and come back to the game. All in all...fun day despite the loss.

1988 ... the makeup game in December was dubbed the Hurricane Bowl

A buddy of mine had a shirt for that game. It was a picture of a box of Tide detergent with the line, "Can't get the yellow out!"

Whoever made those got a cease and desist PDQ but had already sold a bunch of shirts.

Assuming that decision is made by a combination of the athletic departments, field crews and SEC league office

Seems like a real chance the game gets moved to next week since both teams are on bye

Has that ever even happened. Extremely unlikely.

It's not supposed to be a thunderstorm. The game can be played in the rain.

In an SEC game. Doubtful.

But we did move the A&M-La Tech game in 2012 back several weeks because of a hurricane

And I believe it cost us a natty. Had JFF had a game (that we win) prior to Florida, we would have beaten them. We finish with one loss to LSU, and at the end of the season we were rolling over anyone we would have played.

LaTech was scheduled after Florida game. So no it didn't.
We'll win this war, but we'll win it only by fighting and by showing the Germans that we've got more guts than they have, or ever will have. We're not going to just shoot the sons-of-b******, were going to rip out their living G*******d guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy Hun c********** by the bushel-f****** basket. War is a bloody killing business. You've got to spill their blood or they will spill yours. Rip them up the belly. Shot them in the guts.

No that is not correct
LA Tech was scheduled as the season opener (Aug 30, 2012)
The Florida game was played September 8 in week 2.

Why do you post with such conviction regarding things you know nothing about?

Old here...what is HTML narrative? Sorry for asking. Sincere TIA.
Provide an example if possible.

Absolutely correct. I had the flu but 2nd deck first row seats for UNT that year… was miserable and elated at the same time.

If by " real chance " you mean absolutely zero % chance then you would be right

Other than for like hurricanes ect ( and often not even then) that would impact travel a game is not going to be cancelled or postponed to the following week.
It's like so many on this board don't even follow college football.

I see that. But it also shows another round of thunderstorms arriving just about game time. And projected to last through the night.

Gonna be tough to get this one in.

but if they play it, weather may favor us. Our D against the run is pretty decent (excluding the Arky game), and we have a nice sable of backs and a mobile QB to wear them out.

If it is anything like the rounds and rounds of storms that hit us last night, beginning around midnight but not completely stopping until after four AM. Lots of thunder and lightning, heavy rain and windy as hell. Lots of branches down on the ranch this morning.

Hopefully it peters out in severity and multiple rounds of storms tracking over the area.

no way they cancel a game of this magnitude.

For every lightning strike within 8 miles of the stadium = 30 minute delay

Countdown starts over every time there's a lightning strike. When I was in school in 2015, we had a baseball game that started at 6:30 and just kept getting rained out. Think we finished around 2 in the morning. My guess is if it looks like it'll clear out, they'll just keep delaying
