Either way, it is stupid to stay caught in the dogmas of the past. Who cares about Texas? We are Texas A&M. Let's do our best.

Rivalries are literally one of the best parts of college football.

100% agree.
But when a healthy fun rivalry becomes an obsession, that is when it becomes a problem. Some of us are in that zone.

I want to beat Texas too. But I want the NC more.

Youre pitching a false dichotomy. If we want an sec title we have to beat the sips. A team capable of winning a national championship will house the sips.

We are talking NC versus Beating Texas. Not SEC.

Question for you.

1. Win the NC but lose to Texas
2. Beat Texas but do not win the NC.

You can decide the W-L for each game for both cases.

Which would you pick?

Like i said, false dichotomy. If we dont beat this texas team we're not winning a national title. So beat them. Amd then win the next one too.

No it is not false dichotomy. You just don't want to answer the question.

Your answer likely is "I want to beat Texas" but you don't want to come out and admit it.

Go ahead. Don't be scared. I have people throwing stones at me here all the time. The same guys come and tell me a few months later that I was right. It is no big deal. Be bold. There are no wrong answers.

If you knew ball youd know the best path to the championship is favorable ceding. Beating texas and winning the sec is all we can control, but could realistically result in being #1. Thats the best odds of winning the natty.

I want to beat texas with every fiber of my being and i question why you dont? Youve been telling everyone how much you love texas all day.

My friend, it is a simple question that I asked. And you are arguing with me.

1. Win the NC but lose to Texas
2. Beat Texas but do not win the NC.

Can you just answer it? If you don't want to that is fine. Just say so.

I pick (1) without a doubt. I want to beat Texas but I love A&M more than I hate Texas so I want to win the NC more than beat Texas.

One thing is that no matter how much we can't stand them, they just aren't that into us. They care more about OU. They are that girl who ghosted us and we just. can't. get. over. it.

BS. You posted this on an earlier thread sippy... you and your kind are consumed with Aggie

Sip hates us just as much or more than we hate them. We are actually the one who ghosted them when we left for the SEC. And then they followed daddy to the SEC because they couldn't stand us being the most high profile program in the state while they languished in the big 12. But like you, they spin spin spin...

The most important thing to sip is to hold onto their delusional, self important, insecure belief that they are superior to everyone in CFB, not just the Aggies. It's all smoke and mirrors with them and the whole "we don't care about Aggie" is a petulant insecure lie that makes themselves "feel" superior. Its your culture sip. To admit otherwise would reveal your true identity. Entitled, insecure little children consumed with being bigger and better than Texas A&M.

Don't ever believe that. I have a ton of sip friends. This is THE game they want more than anything. Aggies are their main obsession. Absolutely no question.

I'm sure that's why they rooted for OU against A&M when we played in a bowl our first year in the SEC... because OU is their real rival. Right.

Honestly, after 12 years in the SEC without them, I kinda like not thinking about them until game week. Just another game on the schedule for me now. I look forward more to the LSU game than with the sips.

That said, I like the game with the sips for the nostalgia. And yes, they are arrogant *****s. But no different than the *****s at ND, and no reason for me to think about them unless we play that week.

How does that make any sense?
What if they win 20-19 on a 65-yard field goal with no time left?

Pretty sure we'd still make the playoff and have as much of a chance as anyone.

I have looked at the lyrics of their fight song. I haven't found any references to OU.

You know what I have found? References to A&M.

Maybe their real rival is hidden away in some super secret song or poem or something?

Their arrogance dictates that they view us as their "little brother" as a way to make themselves feel superior. That in turn means that they have to pretend like they don't really care about us. Yet anybody who watched our move to the SEC saw that whole charade get blown up, as tu's obsession with our every single move was on full display.

Anybody who says tu doesn't care about us is either extremely naive or doesn't pay attention.

But why? Most of their **** wad students weren't even alive when they won in 2005 and they only won the BigXII title 4 times in 26 years. They've done nothing, they have ZERO to be entitled about. It's not like they're Alabama or Georgia or LSU or Ohio State or even Clemson or Oklahoma for that matter. They lose every to every top ranked team they play, Sark is 2-12 in the big games. They're a bunch of delusional idiots.

This seems like as good a thread as any for Mike Leach's $10,000 rant about sip officiating after their 2007 game:

Quote:

Texas Tech coach Mike Leach was fined a record $10,000 by the Big 12 Conference on Tuesday for his harsh
criticism of game officials following last week's loss to Texas.

The fine doubled the previous high by the league, levied twice before, against Kansas coach Mark Mangino three years ago and former Kansas State basketball coach Jim Wooldridge during the 2005-06 season

"Coach Leach's public statements called into question the integrity and competence of game officials and the conference's officiating program," Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe said.

My hate was reduced for them because of their classy response to the Bonfire tragedy. When the very worst happened, they responded with their very best.

Them weasling their way into the SEC has restored a lot of my hate though.

That was 26 years ago. A lot has happened since then to restore the flames of hatred toward the sips.
We were "all New Yorkers" for a couple weeks on September 2001, too, but since then those Yankees have managed to become even more undeservedly conceited and obnoxious.

Character improvement requires humility and introspection, and we are fools if we expect positive modification from those who lack the capacity for either. They just patted themselves on their back for "being classy" (despite this act precipitating from the decision of precious few individuals) and got even more smug.

Not so fast my friend. Before you go thinking they have this game in hand, we weren't really even recruiting fully until the early 70s, so the record is much closer since 1972 at 26-20 with a Texas advantage and only 1 natty. Mind you, we probably be in the lead given the trash teams sips had for about 10 years in our absence.

Either way, I'm glad to be in the position with the upper hand this year and hope we'll take good advantage of it in the years to come to really make them see how SEC ready they really are!

I wouldn't put much emphasis on the overall series record, Chuck. The sips refused to play A&M when Coach Moran was beating them, and didn't agree to continue until A&M replaced him (beating the sips on a regular basis was not allowed). Since A&M professed beyond a smaller Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering college training young men for war, the series is essentially deadlocked the past 50 years.

Also, A&M has 3 national championships, not 1. Texas claiming the 1970 UPI National Championship is hilarious, after losing their bowl game to Notre Dame by 2 touchdowns. If they had any principles, they'd vacate the claim.
