A win against the Aggies will make up for their disappointed season. A&M will get Texas A game for sure.

Agree. If they (and the SEC office and the officials) beat us, ESiPN and the "committee" will find a way to put them in the playoff so they can keep pumping Arch.

Our guys are going to have to be at their best in Friday to overcome the obstacles that are going to be put in their way.

Get ready for multiple mysterious holds on Bisontis, none against the guys blocking Cashius, and P.I. Every time they throw the ball down the field.

To much chaos would have to happen for them to make the playoffs.

As much as there is media still talking about how a 3 loss team can make it they are very mush alive.

Not so fast, my friend. They are already the top ranked three loss team by a wide margin. It is not a stretch to believe that they will make the playoffs if they beat us.

It is a pretty big stretch. Who is going to get knocked out of the 12 team plsyoff by a 9-3 horn team? Us? An 11-1 A&M? Georgia? Ohio State? The Big 12 champ? Who? Tell us exactly how the committee would fit them in?

If Michigan upsets tOSU, Texas is locked out. No way in hell the committee lets them leapfrog. A win over No. 1 is more impressive than a win over No. 3, and 10-2 > 9-3 (both in math and in records).

An unprecedented level of chaos could, in theory, take place, and then we'd be testing the claim that the committee would not punish a team that plays in its CCG and loses.

Recently, the committee was asked about this. They said the CCG offered another data point. So, they didn't deny that the CCG loser would not be punished by lowering their ranking.

#11 BYU (10-1) and #12 Utah (9-2) have the sips locked out

The sips were the walking dead after the Florida loss. Between OU, Vandy, Georgia, and us, they were assured at least one more loss, which puts the nail in the coffin.

This is the cruel math that the horns face:

G5
Notre Dame
3 Big 10 teams
5 SEC teams
1 ACC
1 Big 12

That is the 12 spots. And if Michigan beats Ohio State it would throw even that above equation into a delimma by needing to put in a 4th Big 10 team.

But just simply let's say room for max of 5 SEC teams. If a 9-3 Texas exists, who are they knocking out from the current group of Georgia, A&M, OU, Ole Miss, and Bama? It won't be 11-1 A&M nor will it be Georgia. They desperately need an OU loss at home to LSU? And what do they do if an 10-2 Vandy exists?

IMO, to give Texas ANY glimmer of hope on Selection Day they need ALL of the following to occur:

1) Beat A&M
2) OU lose to LSU
3) Michigan lose to Ohio State
4) Texas Tech win Big 12 guaranteeing 1 team from there
5) Hope Texas is considered more important than 10-2 Vandy or 10-2 Miami if those teams win out.

Just hoping for both #1 and #2 to happen above if you are a horn fan is probably like a 5% chance of hope. Maybe a coin flip chance of beating A&M in Austin but LSU is trash and has seemed to have packed it in for the season. Sooners are not losing to them in Norman.

Correct, The SEC is not getting 5 of the 7 at large spots. And the sips are not moving ahead of OU. They are done and they know it.

5 spots go to 4 P4 champs and 1 G5.
Big 10 has 2 of the 7 at large locked up.

So the last at large would be between Notre Dame and Texas. LOL, the only school that gets more favoritism than them.

Um...congratulations on avoiding ESPN and SEC Network for the last month, but most talking heads have them making the playoffs if they beat us.

This thread does show that Sankey going to a 9 game SEC schedule was beyond stupid. This is probably the last year we get 5 SEC teams in the 12 team playoff for a while.

I haven't watched any of their shows today, just caught the spin machine going full speed all week and up through gametime yesterday. Lots of "experts" were saying a 3 loss sip team could get in. But of course, their jobs are to keep as many big school fanbases engaged as possible.

If Michigan, OU, and Vandy lose I could see Texas being the 5th SEC team over the Big 12 teams getting 3 teams. They can just use the CCG to punish the 3rd Big 12 team (unless it's Tech). Michigan and Vandy are probably underdogs too.

They'll even use the cop out that playing OSU on the road OOC shouldn't be a penalty resulting in a two loss Utah team (for example) being more deserving than a 3 loss Texas team.

Of course that would require Texas beating A&M which is far fetched.

I think the ACC is locked at one team, ND, and then 3 Big 10 teams if Michigan loses.

Edit: I erroneously assumed Miami would play in the CCG. Assuming they beat Pitt that's probably 2 for the ACC. That's lots of moving parts to get a 3 loss team in.
