Elsewhere, it's stated that Tech is #4 because of the eyeball test. So we have formed a committee to evaluate analytics and so on but at the end of it, they use the eyeball test.

How so? Techs backup QB is very good and has started games for Tech. It's not a huge drop off. But the problem is simpler than that. You are what your resume says you are. If you start saying, well so-in-so just had a bad game or if it hadn't been for the three interceptions they wouldn't have lost you get to where this committee is now, confused and unable to justify their rankings because they don't follow the criteria that they, themselves set up.

Tech has a good team and deserves to be in the field but nobody else in the B12 should be close. What's Tech's SOR? Is it commiserate with the ranking. Nope.

They do appear to be pretty solid. Hard to tell, but a lot like Indiana, they destroy the teams on their schedule

Tech will get exposed when they play a decent team in playoffs

Basically you want the ND schedule.

2 (and only two) real games at the start of the season and then 10 cupcakes.

If you beat either of the good teams it boosts your rank but even if you lose both you finish on a 10 game win streak that benefits from recency bias instead of suffering from it. You're in the playoff every year with this formula with a high seeding too usually

That's why Notre dame wont join a conference. Notre dame shouldn't get in with that **** they call a schedule

They say they are but the evidence is sketchy and the rationales are bordering on comedic. I especially get a kick out of the chairman saying our defense is the reason our ranking doesn't mirror SOR and SOS but I haven't heard much about OU's inept offense in the ranking process.

Doesn't matter; I don't want any part of that group anywhere. We would be hard pressed to beat them.

They need to be critical of how bad that offense is. But the committee seems to love good defenses.

Will be interesting to see how Kiffin leaving affects Ole Miss seed. They gotta drop some I would imagine.

If Notre Dame gets in over Miami then I guess it's due to quality losses. Miami should have lost to teams like Miami if they wanted to make the playoffs.

Miami has better wins. Notre Dame has a win over 9-3 USC who has a win over 9-3 Michigan who has no ranked wins. That's kind of a quality win for the Irish over 36 games.

Would be surprised if OU holds on to 8, They struggled at home against an unranked opponent.

While Notre Dame, Miami, Vanderbilt, Texas, Alabama all finished strong

Bama struggled to beat 5-7 Auburn, and needed ref help to get there, Not finishing strong.
