Today may be the day conference championship games get nixed. If Bama gets left out, there is literally no reason for a team to play in that game. We'll also see today if this committee values conference champions - does UGA get the 2 seed as conf champion, or does OSU stay ahead of them?

I agree with this. They purposely moved Bama to 9 for this reason and I believe they give credit to SEC champion.

That would put TTU vs Oregon, OSU vs Ole Miss, Aggies/Bama vs UGA, and ND vs Indiana

Those are all relatively good matchups. They should have put Aggies at 5 to set up Aggies vs TTU but they didn't think it through enough

The bowls aren't tied to the seedings. Historical conference tie-ins are the 1st factor and Geography the 2nd factor.

Indiana to Rose, Georgia to Sugar because ranked over Tech.. Tech to Cotton. OSU to Orange.

I can't see them actually leaving out the ACC. Miami has to get in for ACC, and if so, has to be ahead of ND. If they have have courage, they'll rank A&M 5, but I'm hoping for at least 6.

You may very well have the correct rankings and the Ag, Bama, Georgia bracket pairing sucks. Hopefully the committee doesn't do that. How about some damn variety and not an all SEC tournament bracket. Bottom 8 contains 4 SEC and 4 others. Split them up.

This is a stretch but is a possibility. #20 Tulane stomped #24 NT. There is a world where they bump Tulane all the way to 10 and put Bama at 11 to make their bias a little less obvious.

Or the conferences could take the B1G strategy and change their rules for CCG tie breaks/participation (think tOSU in the Covid year) so that only the two highest playoff ranked teams play in the CCG so there's no risk of anyone falling out.

Committee needs to hold to their principles or just come out and say they dgaf and will do whatever they want. Put us at 6 and move Ole Miss down because they lost their HC.

By last years rules, Tulane would be the 4 seed, tech would be the 3 seed and tOSU would be the 5 seed and would give tOSU a cake walk to the semis having to beat JMU and Tulane to get there. This is why they changed things.

There is a slight chance they make the switch just to avoid this rematch. Ole Miss Alabama is just as compelling as A&M Bama… apparently no cares about Ags so you might as well throw us up against Tulane

Besides, Ole Miss at 6 puts them in a rematch with Tulane who they beat by 31. Does anyone really want to see that?

Edit: Unless the committee gets really creative and drops Bama to 11 and puts Tulane at 10. But then, did Ole Miss already play Bama as well?

Orange Bowl is not in this round. It is the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona. Tech will be going there, OhioSt will be at the Cotton. These are already decided if the top 4 are these teams. Indiana as BIG 10 champs go to Rose Bowl. Georgia as SEC Champs to the Sugar.
