I love the overconfidence on this board...you know....the same we had when we were going to thrash t.u. Just assume Miami is every bit as good as Indiana or GA.

This cracks me up as well. What have you seen from A&M over the years that should give anyone confidence we can deliver on a big stage? We fell flat on our face against tx and auburn last year where a win would have secured us something we never had before...we fell flat on our face again against tx. Once again, why should any of us have any confidence we can deliver in a big moment on a big stage?

Why are you ignoring the Notre Dame and LSU games from this year while focusing on a game from last year?

Texas was an away game. This is a home game. What is A&M's record at Kyle this year?

I agree it will be a close game, but the amount of doom and gloom on this board is exhausting. Miami lost at SMU, which was the highest ranked road game they played this season and SMU was 20 (sagarin). Miami hasn't played a top 10 team in the road this year.

Their SOS Is 45th and A&M will be the best team they play all year.

Do you think Miami would be 11-1 with A&M's schedule?

Do you think A&M would be 10-2 with Miami's schedule?

Again, I'm not saying Miami isn't a good team, but the amount of folks completely discounting A&M's entire season based on 2 quarters in Austin and 2 quarters against USC is wild.

Ags and Miami are statistically very similar. Ags have a slightly better offense - Miami a bit better on defense.

They'll be the toughest opponent faced all year save Notre Dame whom both teams beat by the slimmest of margins. Getting this game at Kyle Field is massive.

Not saying they won't be tough, but their SOS was, what, 44th?

I feel like, overall, the Ags have played a tougher schedule than Miami.

Edit: Miami will be tougher than texas? I don't like the horns, but I'm not sure about that.

Ohio State had a terrible schedule last year and they lost their last regular season game and that didn't stop them. Schedules and conferences go out the window in the playoffs.

Per ESPN, OSU had the #7 SOR and #29 SOS last year prior to the playoffs.

In comparison, Miami has the #14 SOR and #45 SOS in week 16, this year.

Do you have a citation to back up your claim that Ohio state had a terrible schedule last year?

Let me look. Out of conference they played Akron, Western Michigan and Marshall.

In conference they played Michigan St, Purdue, Northwestern

They only played three good teams Michigan, Oregon and Indiana and they lost two of them.

The facts are my citation.

So you are saying the ESPN analysis is wrong and your gut feeling is correct?

Edit: I guess you are just ignoring OSU's win over 13-3 PSU? And their win over 8-4 Iowa?

So OSU had wins over 2 playoff teams last year, but somehow had a bad schedule?

Exactly. ESPN FPI has us behind Notre Dame all year even after we beat them head to head in South Bend. It's OK to use common sense every now and then.

So their win over PSU was just, what? Nothing?

They beat 2 playoff teams last year before the playoffs. Not comparable to Miami's schedule this year at all.

Edit: who is talking about FPI? I used SOR and SOS.

Edit 2: I am really interested in why your common sense post left out a huge win OSU had over PSU.

Yea I missed PSU. Even counting that game they played four good teams all year and finished .500. That performance in no way gave any indication how dominant they would play in the playoffs. I'm not saying Miami is going to dominate the playoffs but arguing about their schedule is silly at this point. They are loaded with NFL talent and will be difficult to beat.

Them beating 2 playoff teams gave no indication that they would be good in the playoffs…

I appreciate your commitment to not changing your position when presented with relevant data that directly contradicts it. Very impressive.

Edit: if you consider 2024 Michigan "good" then you must consider 2024 Iowa "good" since Iowa finished with the same overall record and a better conference record.

Thanks for the response and breakdown.

If A&M played Miami's schedule and Miami played A&M's schedule, do you believe the team's records would be the same as they are with their original schedules?

Also, when did Elko lose to App State?

Oh well. Can't say I didn't try.

They are terrible. Saw them play at SMU…. Should be a rather reasonable win for us.

Should be favored by 10-12 points at home.

dont jinx us!!!

I mean, you sort of cherry picked what you wanted for your narrative and ignored similar questions about Miami's performance against specific teams while hand waving away things like SOS and SOR.

The very least you can do is provide some sort of analysis backed up with statistics instead of just shrugging your shoulders. But you don't even do that.

So with all respect deserved, you really didn't try.
