The NFL has afternoon and evening games that week. It's Washington vs Philadelphia and Green Bay vs Chicago.
The better matchups for the college football playoff were always going to be slotted for Friday night and Saturday morning.

TNT got the time slot. ABC got to pick the games.
Get breakfast tacos and coffee on the morning, have a few Kyle field beers, win the game, tailgate happy watching the next game into the evening. That sounds ducking perfect to me.

My take that it is absolute garbage is not dismissing the appreciation and excitement of the Ags being in the playoffs and have a chance to make history.
My take is because Kyle field is one of the best (if not the best) environments in cfb, and our hosting of the playoff game is happening at a weak time slot. The 12th man will always show up. But a night game adds even more energy.
