One of the big things they got wrong was their screwing the SEC and gifting the B1G with the bracket.
All the B1G teams can make the semis if they win.
But since they paired up and bunched up the five SEC teams, the best the SEC can do is have two teams in the semis.

They gifted Alabama a spot, so it all balances out.

No, it doesn't. SEC would still only possibly have 2 teams in the semis with 4 teams in the field while the B1G has all three able to make the semis.

go to computers ranking and eliminate the human (bias) element.

Computers are just as biased based on what they are programmed to do

And whatever it is that they are programmed to do, it remains that way throughout the season. It doesn't change when teams win or lose. It's applied evenly and dispassionately. Everybody knows the requirements, and everyone is held to them equally.

They don't change the computer program from week to week because their favorite team doesn't perform the way they wish they would.

Buy sometimes you need that.

For example. Sagarin still has Indiana behind Ohio state. In what world would it ever make sense to seed Ohio state over Indiana?

Two computers gave us behind notre dame.

The committee botched the Miami/ND rankings. As much as I can't stand ND they kind of trolled them. It would have been easier to explain if they didn't pretend for weeks ND was better only to flip them at the end when neither played a game. The ACC tiebreaker was also a disaster like the conference in general but that's not the committees fault.

How? ND gets to choose who they play every year. They choose the teams they know they can beat and then schedule one or two that are tougher and they actually have to practice for. This year those two tougher teams both beat them. Case closed.

I'm absolutely not saying they deserved to get in but why rank them above Miami only to pull the rug in the last and only important decision.

I apologize if this has been already posted. It has us at 7 and ND at 9.

BCS Rankings (Estimated)

" Here's a look at roughly what the final BCS rankings would look like. The Harris Interactive College Football Poll, part of the BCS formula, of course no longer exists. But it can be simulated by the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll. Bold indicates a playoff berth under the current format:"

    ….two years later

Nothing will change until we go to at least 24 teams: 10 conference champions + 4 highest ranked conference runners up + 3 highest ranked third place conference finishers + 6 at large bids + 1 highest ranked independent.

No auto bids. Best 16 teams period. No more conference championship games either. Decided by record and stats.
