Don't think this is possible based on what we know now. She dumped him which triggered this. He then went crazy. UM would have had to get the police force and the town of Ann Arbor to go in with them on a cover-up. I'm not saying it's not possible, but that's a tall order.

I will say she probably strongly preferred a "promotion"/pay raise for her "career" than a gift of 50k per year.

Whatever to keep her as an option for him, so he made the calls to make it happen, despite the risk.

It wouldn't have gone this far unless someone important pushed for it.

One of the reasons cited for the felony stalking charge was 10 phone calls he made to her in one day.

What the police failed to mention to the magistrate who approved the warrant was that he was making the calls from his work phone to her phone during the work day and that she was his personal assistant. Kind of a big omission.

The plea came on the day that they were going to have the Franks hearing to determine whether the police intentionally omitted information when they applied for the warrant. The judge had already expressed concerns in the prior hearing but there was not a formal ruling on the issue as there hadn't been hearing yet.

He was a big dumb idiot who thought with his pants and then got over emotional when it came crumbling down. Had he not gone to her house that night no one would even be thinking about this anymore and he might even have another job as an assistant lined up somewhere else.

Sentencing will be later. Judge declined to remove his ankle monitor until the probation office finishes their report for recommendations. He's eligible for deferred adjudication.
