Why do some posters think the last int was just a bad throw? There was literally nobody remotely open. The left side of the end zone however. He could have waltz in backwards for a TD.

Y'all remember when Haynes King was a turnover machine? Reed can improve.
The bigger problem is the run game. The highest RB yardage in the last three p4 games:
Miami 21y Owens
Texas 48y Owens
Scar 28y Owens
The OL was bad! That needs to be the primary focus in the portal.
Like all the people saying Mond would improve...
Honestly, I am just really shocked that anyone thought Reed was anything more than average with above average legs. I could tell this was how things were going to go from early in the season.
Reed is what he is, which is good enough with a lot of tools but not elite, not great, not even good most days. It was obvious that was the case if you didn't drink the Koolaid.

It was there. McElroy ran a replay and painted a green box around the window.
Timing was off, and Reed missed about 5 FT to the left.
And at that distance, 5 FT is a big miss.

Reed will start.
It will be extremely difficult to upgrade him at this time.

Reed will be the starter next season. Book it
Prolly.
I'll be doing something else with my time if that's the case. I can't imagine spending all that money to go to games and the things around that just to watch it wasted on something we all know.

I think there's a chance Reed could still progress and helm a championship-contending offense, but I would be disappointed if we go into next season with him as the only viable option. But I get that it's extremely hard (and expensive) to hold onto two viable starters for anyone in the current landscape.

…playing Russian Roulette going into next season. He's streaky and when he's hot we can beat anybody but there's always a bullet in the chamber waiting to kill your season.
Worst part, I see zero progression from ND to today so no reason to believe this isn't his ceiling.

at his size im surprised he was as durable as he was this year. one good data point this year but i would still consider that a question mark moving forward.

60pct completion ratio from your QB 1 on the season is not a number you can win a championship with.

It's even worse when you consider how many catches were made on bad passes that didn't enable the receivers to make huge plays.
A player his age is either accurate or not. You may improve it slightly, but the foundation of inaccurate passing ability is already set.

I like him a lot. But I saw something today that made me pause. Keep in mind I didn't fact check this. But if true...
Reed in his 3 biggest games (t.u. 24, t.u. 25, Miami)
7 turnovers
0 touchdowns
Obviously you could argue ND was one of his biggest and it changes things. But still. Ouch.

I think the difference is that nd was 'no stress' because we really weren't expected to win. Not the same as tu or Miami this year when we should have won. He does not do well when he is supposed to win the game against a good team.
