My source is a Reddit thread so it's not like I have deep knowledge of him. Most of the comments were that he is fine but not huge loss. Hasn't really flashed in tape.

I do think his position makes it hard to evaluate him. Stats don't tell the story and guys can look drastically different in a 1 vs 2 gap scheme (no idea what UM runs). I also think OL and DL positions are really hard to crack for younger players unless they are really special players.

For the record, I have no problem with us taking him and consider DT a position of need, but we should temper our expectations.

Just like this year, which we didn't have, we need a true 1 technique that is able to command 2 people blocking so its not so easy for the OL to get to the second level. One of the reasons we couldn't stop the runs up the middle.

Former Tennessee cornerback Rickey Gibson III has announced his intentions to transfer to Texas A&M. After missing most of 2025 with an injury, the 6-foot and 185-pound cover man will be expected to compete for a starting role in Aggieland.
