I think we need to change our focus from high school recruiting to portal recruiting. The portal guys last year were most of our best players. High school guys are going to be looking to portal after 2 years of not starting.

Upgrade over Randall, but long of 47 and 50 is not super impressive. Attempted 2 kicks of 50+, both were last year, he was 1/2.

Also, it is just Illinois barstool account, so this could just be BS speculation since they know he gone.

Seems accurate from 35 and closer. That's what we need. Bond was worse than 50% until he was inside of the 25.

I've seen other people indicate we were going after the Illinois kicker. So I think the Barstool account knows where he's going. I would think it is highly probable he is our next PK.

A college kicker that is basically automatic from inside 40, >75% from 40-49, and gives you a chance from 50+ is a really good P5 kicker. A huge upgrade from the circus we ran out this year.

I don't know the specifics on why so few attempts from 50+. Does he not have the leg/accuracy? Did they have a long FG kicker? Was it a coaches decision to go for it more often due to whatever statistical evaluation of down/distance?

Edit: It appears he has the leg for 50+

I've never been overly impressed with Bussey. I was hopeful he would be a stud because of all the hype. He doesn't look quick and explosive

Seems to be what Indiana is doing... believe they are only signing 7 4 stars and 14 3 star and below. Rank 33 in 247 team rankings.

Good isolated test for the rest of the NCAA to see if it is truly the best option

Agreed. And if you look at some of the best NFL talent, a lot of those guys went to G5, lower P4 schools, or other smaller schools
