Michael Van Buren back in the portal. Probably deserves to start somewhere by now, but would love to have him as a solid backup option here

Genuine question, its seems year after year as far as I can remember, going back to the late 90s with Mark Farris. Aggies always seem to lack at the QB spot. Except for JF, why do the Aggies struggle year after year at the QB spot. Are we not recruiting will at that position. .Do we not have the coaches that can develop these quarterbacks?
Other schools seem to recruit absolute studs or ballars. Aggies juat seem to get a guy that can just do enough or bare minimum. Its frustrating to watch year after year.
no chance he is gonna redshirt, unless hurt.Dex_Mick_Bear said:KatyAggie2000 said:soleta27 said:
Izaiah Williams is in the portal
Wish it was Bussey instead. Izaiah showed some potential when given the opportunity. But as a poster above said, his former position coach is now the OC so I trust the process.
I like Bussey, but I hope we RS him in '26. He can come back as a gadget WR/RB, along with KR/PR.
His NFL potential is an Eric Metcalf-type...
I only agree bc zirkel's kicks suck. It wasn't a fluke him missing. Not sure what they saw in practice.agdaddy04 said:
Bond was 83% overall in 2024, and only missed 1 under 40 and 2 between 40-49. Was 2/3 over 50. Point being, you don't necessarily know what you're going to get year to year. Really the main difference this year for him was missing one more kick in the 40-49 range and going 0/3 on kicks over 50. In my opinion, Coach shouldn't have messed with his confidence by putting Zirkel in.

A&M has not had a problem recruiting talented quarterbacks. A&M has a problem playing quarterbacks too young and not letting them develop. We get impatient when a freshman plays like a freshman. And we move onto the next highly recruited quarterback.
People are quick to criticize our sophomore quarterback who made some sophomore mistakes. He will get better and the game will slow down for him.
Reed is 21 yo, will be 22 yo before fall camp starts, just finished his third season at A&M, has thrown 653 passes in college, and just played his worst month of college football.Bottlehead90 said:
