He isn't worth 5 million dollars but if there are those who are willing to throw money away to chase a chance to not be shut out in the CFP then game on!
He's worth exactly what the market is willing to pay
Because tech is willing to and also able to pay him $5 million does not mean that he is worth it.

So according to a lot of posters Ags need a new qb, but Tech just signed a guy with about 200 less total yards overall to include about 350 less passing yards. Read had a few less tds and 7 more picks, but was sacked 10 more times. Reed also has a higher completion percentage…..but "he is an awful qb" …..funny funny times. I'll chalk up the Big 12 vs SEC thing as a wash as Reed had a better supporting cast.
Yeah, I looked at the slot money the other day. If I remember correctly, $5 was 1st year money for the #9 pick and total 4 year money for a slot somewhere in the late 20s.Ags2013 said:

If we are going to do this NIL crap....it needs to be performance based. A contract for $5MM and he could come in and be a massive flop.

I didn't watch any Cincinnati this season. Is he that good?
per PFF:
Overall QB rating
90.0 grade
6th nationally
1st big 12
notes: Elite accuracy and decision-making; 27 TDs, 5 INT.
Uh.. completion % says the opposite.
I guess receivers don't drop/miss passes. PFF rates QBs on catchable balls.

PFF is arbitrary garbage. Our WR's had plenty of drops too. A lot of our turnovers hit guys in the hands.
Go look at Sorsby stats every time he didn't play a Big 12 cupcake. Literally BAD.
You don't have to come on here and make us hear you whine about college football. This is the reality and college football is not "starting over" ever.Wicked Good Ag said:

5 mil? Drop in the bucket compared to a Jimbo buyout.
We at least do research on our recruits because we have the best in the game with James Blanchard. A&M just takes whatever they can get. It dropped off quite a bit last year after Craver and Concepcion. We had a whole defense and receivers perform.

No idea what point you are trying to make. Nobody here was comparing him to Reed but somehow your brain went there.
But as far as Reed, he was rated 117th in catchable passes by PFF. 25% of his throws are were uncatchable. Just because the statistics prove your post to be shallow doesn't mean the source is garbage.
