I'm also seeing that he's getting a lifetime 1% royalty on all oil and gas revenue in West Texas plus a one time $10M payment on top of the $5M

I haven't seen him play, but heard he is a running quarterback. He had 100 carries this season. Why pay so much for a quarterback when they will likely limit his running to prevent risk of injury?

Got to hand it to Tech. They are really turning themselves into a premier program. Upping the talent, coaching, facilities, etc. Great alumni support, top notch NIL and the culture gets high marks.
They will likely finish as the top program in Texas for '25 to '26 football year in rankings.

A lousy field goal in front of a home crowd isn't much more to write home about. Plus we were a round a head of you. Next.
LOL.
Tech had no business even being in the top 10 teams, nevermind a bye. Everyone who knows football knew it.

Except they won their conference. A&M had a win over crybaby Irish, a lackluster state trooper gate game against SCAR and still at 11-0 heading into the last game had not secured a spot in the SEC championship game. The hole was big enough to fall through and thud against Miami.
When it's all said and done, Tech will finish above A&M in the rankings after the 19th

He isn't worth 5 million dollars but if there are those who are willing to throw money away to chase a chance to not be shut out in the CFP then game on!
He's worth exactly what the market is willing to pay
Because tech is willing to and also able to pay him $5 million does not mean that he is worth it.

CC needs to buy tech into one of the P2 conferences.

So according to a lot of posters Ags need a new qb, but Tech just signed a guy with about 200 less total yards overall to include about 350 less passing yards. Read had a few less tds and 7 more picks, but was sacked 10 more times. Reed also has a higher completion percentage…..but "he is an awful qb" …..funny funny times. I'll chalk up the Big 12 vs SEC thing as a wash as Reed had a better supporting cast.

Explored NFL and estimated he would have been drafted late first round to early 3rd round. Decided to play another year of college to: 1) Make $6M, 2) Increase his draft rank - wants to be no1 overall, and 3) Get more big-time experience - says NFL QBs need to be ready to start on day 1 and thinks he needs another year of college for that - wants to the next Bo Nix
