It's Tech's only play. They had to basically beg David Bailey to just hear their offer. All things being equal none of these kids want to go to Lubbock and they sure as hell don't want to play for someone like Joey McGuire. Their process is simple. Desperately pay to get a kid to visit, then desperately have to pay a premium to get kids to transfer/enroll.

Tech will look a lot like OU's time in the Big 12 when they made the playoffs, beat up on the conference, make the playoff, then get whipped like they did this year. OU's best shot was the 17-18 Rose Bowl vs Georgia where they lost in OT. OU is 0-5 in the playoff.

I don't think many outside of West Texas understand how reckless Tech alumni are being with their pocket books in search of buying their first NC. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him land at Tech.

It is **** you money. Maybe there is a longer term play for him, but he's ok sending quite a bit of it away with seemingly no expectation that it comes back. I can't imagine loving or wanting something so bad for A&M, but that's just me.

He's a billionaire. The money he is spending is nothing to him

Sports franchises cost billions of dollars. He's "donating" like 20mill a year. That is nothing. And he basically gets to "own" his favorite college football team for a fraction of the cost.

Coleman is going to tech if that billionaire wants to give him a couple million. Nothing you can do about that

Spot on. Tceh will blow through their cupcake schedule most years and wind up in the CFP as long as the Big XII keeps an auto-qualifier spot. And just like OU, Tceh will crap the bed the first time they line up against a legit top 10 team - see this year for example of what to expect. If Cody Campbell is willing to piss away $100 million on a moon shot, they might make the Championship game, but they'll always be outside looking in as things stand now.
