Best of luck to an all-time Aggie. From starting as a true freshman to All-SEC honors, he was a stud.

happy for him and a bit surprised.

Not surprised. This was expected and really he will not add anything by staying another year. You could argue he would make more in NIL but that's all he could gain.

Wish York the best but I dont think he's gonna make much money in the NFL and I was among his biggest fans out of HS, while recognizing his physical limitations

If he makes an NFL team, no player will outwork him.

Count me in the surpised camp. I can't help but wonder if he was advised that he would be drafted or if he intends to sign a free agent deal with a team he likes and grind his way to a spot. Either way, I congratulate him on completing his collegiate career, played with a lot of heart.

Same thing said about Anaias Smith. Where's he now? York should stay in CFB until they kick him out.

No idea but he's somewhere with a Super Bowl ring.

He's on the Panther's practice squad.

Idk who is advising him but it's questionable. I doubt he'll go very high in the draft. Would be better in my opinion to develop and show out one more year in CFB. Hope nothing but the best for him though.

York seems like a fantastic young man, but he's getting some terrible advice. He'll be a bottom half of the draft player at best and is unlikely to make a team at all regardless of how smart he is.

Even if he stayed and showed out next year, I doubt his draft stock would improve since he's an undersized linebacker.

Maybe he doesn't want to play college ball anymore and feels it's time for him to see if he can make it to the league.

While I wish him the best and I'll be pulling for him like I do the others. I don't think 4 more years of college ball is going to help his situation much less 1

We will see if an NFL team can look past his measurables.

Seems like getting paid another year in college would be better for him.

Is he projected to get drafted?

Was he going to get processed?

Surprised he'd go this route since he'd probably make more money here than going late round or undrafted

Good luck to him all the same

Elko might've encouraged him to go to the draft since his stock is likely at its height and it is time for us to move on as well. Maybe he can come back to coach.

If the NFL doesn't pan out I could definitely see York becoming a successful coach somewhere. Smart kid and he has the right mentality that you want to influence others.

He will get drafted. I've seen him listed as the #7 LB in the draft with most projections I've seen as going in the 3rd round.

Dat Nguyen and Zach Thomas were short Middle linbackers who played in the NFL. All 3 guys are about the same height and Weight, Dat was a 3rd round pick and played 6 seasons for Dallas, while Thomas played 13;years mostly with Miami.

He won't make a ton more staying vs going to the NFL and he will be 1 year closer to his second contract if he goes.

I believe bis 40 time will determine if he gets drafted or not. The combine will weigh very heavy

It is an incredible accomplishment that he made so many plays on preparation, instinct, and guts to achieve all-SEC honors. That said I have to wonder if Elko looked in the mirror and said I HAVE to play full-sized linebackers that can shed blocks this year in the SEC. That remains to be seen what else we will have on the roster.

York is an Aggie at heart, may not have seen himself increasing his stock transferring to another school, and he may not have wanted to

I agree. He has the intelligence and work ethic to be successful in the sport (probably anything he decides to do). Can't blame him for taking the chance and enjoying the journey. He jas a bright future somewhere.

^This.

His draft stock can only lower. He's probably not going to make it long, but might as well try. Go test himself and come back and coach here under Elko

Dude is bright. Has every intangible and every non-physical tool a player can have…..he's a film guy and im sure he's seen what we've all seen that he's slow and small and there's better players behind him. Hopefully he makes it in the league at least a few years to realize that dream. Good guy

that logic all made sense before nil. Post nil and he may be taking a pay cut and assume a bunch of risk of not making it...

He is certainly comparable to Tyrel Dotson, who is still an NFL starter.
