Wow my comment was removed.

Ok let me try again. I didn't think he was as good as he was said to have been.

He had one awesome game I think this year where he flew to the ball. Other than that he was run over and out of place. Notre Dame kid ran over him on the way to the TD

Love? If so, Love ran over a bunch of people on his way to the endzone

Dat Nguyen and Zach Thomas were short Middle linbackers who played in the NFL. All 3 guys are about the same height and Weight, Dat was a 3rd round pick and played 6 seasons for Dallas, while Thomas played 13;years mostly with Miami.

Similar size but that isnt Yorks problem, its athleticism. Dat for example was a great athlete, was regarded as the best basketball player in the team and could reportedly slam dunk

Not sure he will make it in the NFL, he could never get off blocks. I do think coaching linebackers could be in his future after giving the NFL a shot. Good luck young man now and in the future.

He is certainly comparable to Tyrel Dotson, who is still an NFL starter.
Yes, this is a much better example than Dat and Zach, two unanimous All-Americans. Dodson wasn't drafted and has had to fight hard to get to this point. I suspect York has an even greater climb ahead, but I'll be rooting for him

No. I've seen him play at the rec center and he didn't really stand out playing with the other scrubs on the court. Mostly used his strength to bully the other players down low.

And attempted to dunk several times during warm-ups and once in a while he would be able to dunk it.

It wasn't just the back, he also had a lineman engaged while trying to make the tackle. I'm amused at the comments that York couldn't take on blocks when I think the position has long since become more of a speed, quickness and instinct position. The days of Jack Lambert are long gone (I mean how many 220-230 lb guys can "take on" a 320 lb road grader head up?)

Regardless, I'm surprised he's projected in 3rd round…I'll be interested to see how he tests out. Would love to have him back and am confident Elko would also. Best of luck to him…he's done a great job here.

Same thing said about Anaias Smith. Where's he now? York should stay in CFB until they kick him out.

No idea but he's somewhere with a Super Bowl ring.

Anias and York are no where near the same player.

Anias was a tiny WR in a big man's game, York will be Edge Cooper number 2 and play for years. Get the money man. Get that money and get out before the CTE gets ya.

Not surprised. This was expected and really he will not add anything by staying another year. You could argue he would make more in NIL but that's all he could gain.

When he came out with the seniors on senior day I thought it was a foregone conclusion

York is smaller than Cooper. I wish him the best. It he is not Cooper 2.0

All Time?.Did you just start following Aggie football?.I'm not sure he is a Top 30 LB in A&M history.

York was a very solid player for us, and I'm a big fan. I've never understood the hate he gets on here. The biggest knock on him is his size, and one more year of college won't change that. He's smart to go now while he's healthy.

IMO, was expected and the tell was when we got Coney immediately in the portal.

Coney is not a Tristen J replacement who was trying to move up from 3rd string, but more of an experienced immediate starter replacement to pair with Sanford and Lockhart.

People said the same thing about Dat when he came out for the Draft, and if his neck holds up he is a pro bowler damn near every year. York has the football IQ to be successful

I don't know if York's skills translate well to the NFL. Probably none of the other posters know either.

But I do know that I am thankful for Aggies like him that spent their entire careers here, especially in this day and age of portal money chasing. I'd rather have a dozen Yorks than a single Scournton (one and done), even though they might have much different looking prospects at the next level.

Same for Zuhn, Moss, and probably some others that I am missing. Regardless of how well they do in the NFL, they will aways be great Ags in my book.

This is an absurd take. You would rather have to settle for the 3 star because you botched the recruitment of other guys at the position. Then you slight Scourton as being a one & done portal money guy, when the only reason you didn't have 3 years with him is because you never offered the guy who was 10 minutes away and would have jumped at the opportunity...

Again with your narrative. He is currently one of the top LB in the draft. That wouldn't happen with what you describe.

I could see him playing a Tyrel Dodson role in the NFL. Tyrel struggled first couple years, but eventually became a high IQ trusted member of a defense. He'll probably face difficulties against quick long wingspan blockers, but think every team could use a guy who can diagnose plays quickly.

Good for him and good for the team going forward. Too often I saw the LB's jump to fill a gap almost as soon as the handoff was made. Not enough reading the RB and then moving to the gap. Granted that type of play doesn't TFL, but it certainly would help reduce those huge runs.

Dodson is bigger and faster than York. Neither are in the same ballpark as Cooper. You guys crack me up. I do hope York plays himself onto a roster. I will be absolutely shocked if he is taken by the 3rd round.

Thats how I see it. York appeared to have the instincts and intensity to make up for his lack of athleticism and size out of HS to college. I dont see it happening from college to the NFL which is effectively a quick twitch flag football type league

If his agent allows him to run anywhere other than at Pro Day, he should be fired on the spot

And Dodson is only 6'0, so no way he's 4 inches taller

I, too, am surprised he's leaving. However, if York's size and speed somehow prevent him from a career like Nguyen or Thomas, his work ethic and leadership may lead to a long and profitable career as a coach.

Whatever, I imagine he's banked his NIL money and probably has opportunities beyond football. Hope he gets his degree.
