Obviously he's spending money in EVERY sport, which is fine, but how/why is one guy outbidding us, tu on bigtime talent. I can understand passing on good not great players, but tech has consistently gotten the best players especially on the DL.

And right now, the biggest winner in the portal is arguably Oklahoma State, a program most had written off. How each team approaches the portal is completely different. Some schools, like us, use it more to fill in spots you didn't address with high school recruiting and development. Some like Indiana use it as the sole source of talent.

Why is no one talking about Mark Cuban and Indiana, you think they got great in two years because of their coach...

OSU is signing the North Texas team since they now have NT's coach.
Not sure those players are a huge win.

There is no way to dismiss what has happened at Indiana as anything other than amazing coaches. None of his transfers were "OMG, how did Indiana land THIS guy" at the time.
Money or not, he's an awesome coach.

This is a desperate reach for a negative take on what tceh is doing.
This is exactly what you do to build a powerhouse. Buy elite players. And even if the money dries up- get to the playoffs enough times - which they will- and you don't have to overpay for players any more.

They aren't buying a roster full of elite players. Last year they had two. This year I don't see any.

Who is this person?
He is like T Boone Pickens. He has a strategy and frankly it works. We don't need his strategy, but don't make fun of it.Teslag said:Quote:

He's not. Collectively both A&M and the sips have as much or more than Tech's booster. Ours just aren't vocal about it and make it about themselves.

Because we aren't going to significantly over spend on players.
Tech has to give more than market value to sign them. It is a recipe for disaster if yiu are trying to build a program. Short term it works but eventually hos money will dry up one way or another.

I love how the sugar daddy Cambell is throwing all this money at all these players, yet he goes on all the podcasts and on these boards about "saving" college sports. complete hypocrite.
