I like to envision him in Vegas, with the crazy of Davis Jr, and being surrounded by all the best distractions that town has to offer.
Won't happen though.

Reed was playing just fine but after he tweaked his leg in the first half, Klein totally abandoned the QB run.

Reed did press in the 4th quarter when we fell behind. He forced throws in tight coverage. He should not have done that but there was also no one open.

We did not lose the game bc of just Reed as you continually keep spouting.

We should have been up 13-3 at half but of course the field goal circus that was present ALL season bit us again. This also affected the second half bc Elko abandoned kicking them.

Texas pretty much did nothing the entire 1st half but Arch broke a couple of runs on pass drop backs and we overreacted to it clearly during half time adjustments bc it opened up others areas in the 2nd half bc players were focused on Arch running the ball and our pass rush went to crap.

Coaches are the primary reason we lost this one. Failure on not solving our kicking issues ALL season. And over-coaching by removing Reed's running ability and bad defensive adjustments.

The hogs ran the ball at will on Texas the weekend prior bc they used the QB run from the start. We had no run game at all just forcing RB runs ALL game.

Dude, your Reed defending is laughable.
You can't run him much anyway unless you wanna send him to the injury tent. He's not built for it, and he still can't comprehend when to hit the deck.
He make better decisions, he takes what the D gives, we get more first downs, and it changes the dynamic.
Pivotal possession, 3rd and 2, good call, open guys by design on short routes….but he goes for the bomb to KC, and overthrows bad? And you wanna pin that on Klein?

He played pretty well most of the season. Mostly. Gets tunnel vision with #7 sometimes, but overall wasn't terrible.
Right about the time the Heisman talk started, something changed. Bailed himself out of SCar.

But you can't defend the bad play vs t.u. and Miami.
He completes the short easy throws vs Miami and we likely beat em by 10+

But hey, you do you chief

On the game losing int to Miami, Reed could have waltzed into the endzone on the left side. It was almost an identical setup to Miami's game winner last night. Instead he threw late to a covered TE for an int.

While I'm not saying Reed doesn't have a lot of fault for the game, he definitely couldn't have waltzed into the endzone. He had pressure up the middle and the edge was waiting for him on the outside unengaged. The edge was engaged and behind Beck when he decides to run. The plays were nothing alike.

Not an accurate depiction of the last A&M offensive play. Reed could have tucked a run. It wouldn't have we a waltz but he easily should beat the DL that was in front of him. Miami ran a twist stunt with the DT and DE the DE was 1 v 1 with our tackle. There was no one outside of the hash if he runs outside. Reed vs DT. Reed should win that everytime.

All of that said he had Theo on his route but threw the ball way behind him. And into the DB's arms.

There are 3 players from Miami's secondary sitting almost on the goal line. Pressure up the middle, and two unengaged defensive linemen. You guys are just making up ***** Here's the video.

And yes, I see that is Scott on the outside but you still have Bain unengaged and 3 players on the left goal line. Only one with his weight heading right.

Who is Reed throwing that ball to? If he held it a touch longer the entire left side cleared out, just like it did for Beck. He just chose not to take the double covered receiver. Reed threw into coverage and Beck didn't

It is Beck's 6th year in college. Maybe that extra experience helped him a little in that situation?

The left side doesn't clear out. He has a spy on him literally sitting on the goal line waiting, pressure up the middle, and neither Scott nor Bain are coming up field. They aren't going to run past Reed because they are better than the Ole Miss line. That's why they are in the national championship game.

Only one player is making a play on Reed if he pulls the ball. It's 41 and he's standing on the A in the endzone. Not spying Reed like you claim. Reed vs Downhill LB. Reed wins that normally.

Never said the plays were the same either.

Again, who is he throwing the ball to? You think that was the right decision? Beck drops back and also has a primary. Except he pumps, then looks right, then looks for an outlet to run. Reed did none of that. He just panicked and threw into double coverage.
PeekingDuck
How long do you want to ignore this user?

He's staring at Reed the entire time. He even lets KC run right by him. Almost high fives him as he runs by. Go watch some other angles of the video. He had one and only one assignment on that play. And yes, I consider standing between the A and the goal line, "on the goal line". I wasn't responding to you, in general. You just interjected.
PeekingDuck
How long do you want to ignore this user?

He's obviously throwing the ball to Theo. He just threw it behind him. And the play was probably to throw it at KC who was tackled.

I'm talking about the stupid Waltz comment and comparing the two plays. Inane pedantry. LOL.
jt16
How long do you want to ignore this user?

Go stop the clock at 17 seconds. The LB is staring at the receiver. Not really paying attention to the QB at all. He may have had one responsibility as a spy, or he may also have had zone coverage responsibility. At any rate, I'd take Reed vs a LB in a foot race all day long, over throwing into traffic. And if Miami has a spy as you mention, it's because they are worried about one thing, and it's not his ability to hit a TE dragging across the back of the end zone in an impossible window.

Edit to add, I agree he doesn't have KC as a responsibility, but he clearly had the TE on the route.

I personally don't doubt Reed. I doubted Colin Klein. We were near 100 ranked in red zone scoring. That's on the OC.

LOL, damn near spit out my drink.

I like Reed. Seems like a super great kid, wish him the Heisman, for real.
But at the same time, if he plays like sh*t, it's okay to admit that too and say it out loud.
Both things can happen, you can like him and still acknowledge he had a rough stretch.

Has a ton of work to do though. It's possible he develops into a badass and early round NFL Draft pick, but the uphill climb is very very steep for him.

Incorrect again. There's no proof to that bc he's has now played two full seasons. We ran him a ton in both LSU games and look what happened. Quit making up narratives that are not there and easily disproved.

You did not address any of the actual areas I highlighted. Just cried about me defending Reed. Hey, it's easy to defend him with the dumb items you try to push. Coaches lost the Texas game. Not Reed. My guess is you are one of those Ags that cannot handle losing to Texas, thus your continued focus on that game and blaming Reed for that game.

Reed was a big reason though we lost the Miami game. He missed a couple of plays that were there to make and all of his turn overs could have been avoided. It's too bad Miami did not drop them like they did last night or I think we win the game. Reed needs to learn from this. Beck played bad in both of Miami's losses this year but so far in the playoffs has protected the ball fairly decent. Reed needs to learn from this just like appears Beck finally did.

Reed is also the reason we started 11-0 and won some very challenging road games.

The reason I have a problem with posters such as you. You do not provide any positive or point out what Reed has done well for the team the last two years. You also put everything on Reed and not any of the other areas or the coaching.

2. You can read thru my history and find anything you want about positives/negatives, my take on the t.u. game, and whatever else you want to waste your time with if you're really that obsessed with whatever I type.

I also pointed out negatives on Reed. Where as he does not point out any positive.

1. Don't tell me how to post.
2. Do more homework before you drop your nonsense. You'll see I actually like the kid. I like our head coach. I like Klein too, he did a good job, and wish him well at KState (although i think he's gonna hit a wall there).

After the play gets called though, Reed's gotta make good decisions and/or make good throws. He didn't always do that, and it hurt us.
Let's hope he makes major strides in the off season.

None of that would be new to you, if you did your homework.
