Notice how incredibly low possession these playoff games have been. Like 8 possessions per team. The premium on field position, turn-overs, special teams, avoiding negative plays has been magnified, even more than the NFL. Reminds me of post-season baseball - almost a different sport than the regular season.

Too bad we aren't playing. I think we'd destroy both these teams. I know we already played Miami but that was a fluke and we had Klein halfway out the door. With a committed OC we'd win this for sure

There was a targeting rule in existence when we were playing Nebraska? No way.

Just googled it. It started in 2008. Only in 2013 did it warrant an ejection, which is why people started to care about it being called.

Question out of ignorance. If the defensive person is trying to catch the pass and not tackle the offensive player, does this not make him a defenseless player as well? I agree that Miami should have been called for targeting against us and was baffled it wasn't but here looked like the defensive player was going for the ball and had no idea the receiver was there.

Also another terrible part/grey area of the rule. It doesn't lay out how that should be called. I've seen defenders called for targetting on plays they were making an attempt at a pick and head completely turned to the QB and incoming pass.

Add to it there's plenty of times the offensive player clearly should be the offender in a targetting call and that never get a called.

I feel like he's an accurate passer but doesn't have much arm strength. Several of these hits over the middle have been a result of what seems like a pass that takes forever to get there right at the collision point. Have yet to seen him but some a** behind a throw int a tight window.

Miami's OL is so good. If the RB just gets in the wash and gets tackled, its a 4 yard gain because their OL just moves people.

Never understood how an offensive player (RB/WR/QB), can lower their head and initiate contact with a defensive player and not be called for targeting.

Wow! How about the entire Oline all lay down like a conveyor belt with rollers and just roll the ball carrier into the end zone. Technically can't be tackled bc he never touches the ground.
