I think the CFP Committee is collectively too stupid to rank the teams themselves without relying on the AP and Coaches polls as their guide. About as far as they stray from mirroring those polls is to tweak them a little here and there. I really think those Committee positions are mostly ceremonial appointments, almost akin to a feather in their cap or a status symbol.

Texas has 10s of millions of fair - weather fans. They only watch football when tu is winning.

A&M has fewer fans due to fewer T-shirt fans, but we generally watch the football games regaurdless.

ESPN is financially incentivized to pimp tu because it makes their Xmas bonus bigger when people think tu might win. It's just the way the world it. It is not going to change.

This year was awesome. We saw two teams in the playoffs that we hadn't seen in our lifetimes and one of them win it all. Plus the ACC's implosion of a championship game proved auto-bids for conference champions is stupid.
