That's all Neymar's influence. Or just his French teammates.wangus12 said:He did say he idolized RonaldoAustinAg2012 said:
Mbappe's a *****.
With the teams so evenly matched one of those no-calls could have been the difference.theNetSmith said:
Unbelievable non-call when Giroud took Hazard down just outside the area.
To be fair, the goal did end up going in about 3-4 feet inside the post off a flick header, basically through the goalkeepers arms. Not certain a man on the post reacts in time, especially when you are taught to stay connected to the post.MookieBlaylock said:
Another near post goal on a corner
Just stick a m an on the post

Its like the managers arent watching other games.
But that eliminates a space the keeper has to even think aboutPatAg said:To be fair, the goal did end up going in about 3-4 feet inside the post off a flick header, basically through the goalkeepers arms. Im with you, there is no reason to NOT have someone on the front post at least.MookieBlaylock said:But that eliminates a space the keeper has to even think aboutPatAg said:To be fair, the goal did end up going in about 3-4 feet inside the post off a flick header, basically through the goalkeepers arms. and it puts pressure on the players to actualize their man
Kaepernick was the not marking that guy and almost made the play but he is getting blamed
Might want to wait and see what happens at the end of the England v Croatia game before making judgement...pretty much all teams do this when they are in the lead.AustinAg2012 said:
France should beat either Croatia or England, but after that second half of BS they pulled, I hope they lose.
I agree.randy828 said:Might want to wait and see what happens at the end of the England v Croatia game before making judgement...pretty much all teams do this when they are in the lead.AustinAg2012 said:

I'd make yellows from the semis carry over to the finals, but you'd have to get creative to make it work right... That is, if a player picked up a yellow in the semis, then if they pick up a yellow in the finals, they're 'suspended' for the rest if the game but not shown a red. So they'd have to waste a sub to get him out of there but wouldn't play a man down. I'm sure purists would scream about that, but I think it'd be a good balance between trying to let teams play at full strength in the finals, but also making the consequences for getting a yellow in the semis pretty severe.
I agree about the refs... But the issue I'm raising about yellows goes beyond time wasting. These games are so heated that I think you have to make yellows hurt. (Getting the refs to whip them out is a different issue entirely)akm91 said:
Why change the system? If the refs would only add on the time wasted to stoppage time, this tactic will go away.
This is so very true at all levels of the game. I officiate competitive youth as well as adult league games, and I prefer to "let the players play" unless/until someone starts taking advantage of my leniency and gets out of hand. Other refs I know like to assert themselves from the start of play. A good ref should go relatively unnoticed. His/her function is to enforce the laws of the game and ensure the safety of the players. But refs are people, too, and anytime you introduce a human element into anything, objectivity will be subject to the individual.wangus12 said:
The thing about making yellows worth that much is that it becomes way too subjective. Every ref runs matches different. Some let stuff play out more and keep the cards in the pocket while others pull the cards out right away. Unless you have the same ref, it becomes an advantage to one side or the other based on who is in the center.
