Does anyone else think Iceland belongs as attacking mid? Rheagan and Ally and Emily can split time as two forwards. I hated seeing Emily injured but it might have opened up an option to improve the team. Emily plays her heart out and can run forever, but she can get lost in the midfield. Iceland showed a big presence there in her one chance.
Alternative is Emily at outside mid. (See I am stuck on Iceland as attacking mid). Emily has speed and scoring ability we can use in several positions.
We can use Ally and Emily and Rheagan at forward. Gives us depth. Others getting time up front have not impressed as potential starting material.
If we need a passer in the forward group to complement or set up our speedsters up front, we can try others (not Iceland or Emily) from the current midfielders. I am not sure who would best fit that role. Yes Iceland can do it but I am starting to think she is most valuable withdrawn a bit.
Jordan Hill. Very good 1v1 defender. Equally bad at times passing the ball, and yesterday (against CC) was worst yet. Gotta decide what to do with her. I recommend many many additional passing drills. With 3 back the 1v1 skills are critical so we need her But errant passes in back third can kill us This is where Coach earns his $. (And his grey hair.)
Grace is tough as nails. I like it. In some past years I think our team has lacked a bit in what I might loosely call the enforcer category, but Grace shows other teams that we too can be hard as nails. Don't f with us! Her passing is usually okay but can be variable. Scoring ability impressive. ( I do worry she might get caught one day if she continually goes to that quick cut pass behind the closing defender when we are working the ball out of the back. It works for her, but if it ever doesn't work it will not be pretty, so please don't go to that well too often!)
