It was unlucky but also a good handling call.

While you're probably right, Dortmund had a goal stolen on a completely wrong call last match so I was hoping that would be waved off to even things out.

Gio comes on. On the ensuing free kick Dortmund were inches away from scoring.

That handling call is sketchy. I can make a case for calling it and not calling it. The latest and greatest rewrite says its generally not handling if the ball hits an arm from a deflection off your head, chest or legs. The key part being "generally" His arm was way outside his body. I know why he called it. I wish he would have not and let VAR sort it out. Personally I dont think its handling. Im not calling it in any game I do.

Man City is clearly the better team, but I was hoping for a miracle

Puke emoji in response to City scoring. Not related to the handling laws being unknowable.

I was feeling shiity when we got that goal. Even though I think there is a good case for it being the right call, I would hate if that is what won the game. Feel so much better now.

I had a ton of issues when it was CBS, but haven't had any issues since it's been Paramount.

I just hate you can't pause it. What is this? The 20th century?

Putting the games exclusively on P+ pretty much killed getting to watch the games in a social setting like a bar/pub. I tried to call several places yesterday that normally show CL and PL games and none of them had any way to broadcast the games this week.

Most places just have them in Spanish on mute.

Phoenix on Westheimer in Houston has a handful of TVs set up for internet streaming but they're about the only place I know of that does that right now.

Bars are going to have to figure out the internet streaming game, because more sports are headed that way, not less.

I wish these streaming services could figure out the recording and storing, as well as pause functions and overall user interface. I have YouTube TV, and their user interface, recording, favorites, pausing, fast forwarding are all awesome, so I know it can be done. Watching on Paramount+ feels like I am stepping back in time.

Peacock is just as bad. All these services want you to do is watch it once straight through. It's idiotic.

The only way it changes if everyone refuses to pay the fee and the leagues get complaints.

ESPN is ok, but better than Paramount or Peacock.

What's mind-boggling is that it'd be so easy to monetize it. Example: if you use DVR, then they could force you to watch a 15 sec "DVR sponsor" ad when you restart after a long pause. Folks would gripe, but ultimately wouldn't care and it'd be an additional revenue stream. Then charge a premium subscription to get rid of ads.

The thing that kills me about ESPN is that - yes, you can pause, but if you're in their app on your phone, they keep updating the score and stats in the info at the bottom. Maybe they have a spoiler mode I don't know about but I've had many a Leipzig game ruined by that.

ESPN is better in some ways, but still needs a lot of work.
