Wow, lots of names I'm not familiar with. Exciting to be so talent-rich as opposed to recent years.
I'll just say I agree with the opinion that usa lacks a good to great number 9. We've always lacked that, for the most part. Dike has great potential and physical tools, but he must be more consistently dangerous, and must be better on the ball. I don't see the constant killer/attack mindset from him either.
I like Sargent, his consistency and attitude are probably better than Dike at this point, but I agree with an earlier poster who wanted to try Hoppe at the 9. I love what I see from him in terms of skill, physical attributes and above all, mindset.

I think a Greg is going to need to do a good job of identifying who is in form, or has developed more, with their club between qualifying windows. With how young our team is, the starting 11 could easily change from window to window. It could also depend on the team we are playing, and what kind of tactics we want to employ in the game.
I think assuming we should just win every game in qualifying is pretty inconsisten with how qualifying results have been historically (for both usa and mexico. no one wins every game)

Spot on. Just read that Musah's going to be out for 3-6 weeks due to muscular injury which means he's out of WCG for at least the first window if not the second as well.

So that's so true. Our depth is really going to play dividends compared to the rest of the countries.

On a serious note, I'd really like to see Matt Turner in WCQ. He's having a heck of a tourney. I haven't liked any of our keepers since Tim but I'm starting to like Matt quite a bit.

Agreed. So many seem to anoint Steffen as the #1 and I'm not sure why.
I bet Turner plays at least one of the matches in each of the first two WCQ windows.

Both Steffen and Turner have stable club situations. Will be interesting how Berhalter handles Horvath as he just moved to a new club.

Steffen's club situation is that he rarely plays. That's got to change.
I like both Robinson and Zimmerman better than McKenzie based off USMNT performances.
I think Ream is done for USMNT (and should be, based on age). Dest/Robinson at LB, Cannon/Yedlin/Moore at RB, plenty of young CB options that are bigger and more athletic than Ream.
If guys like Zardes/Arriola are the bottom of a WCQ roster, I don't have any issue with that. They have their uses as subs/versatile spot starters.

Ream is a solid defender and distributor from the back. He'll get game time in WCQ and possibly in the WC.
